Old wheel uncovered
« on: April 07, 2011, 10:00:58 am »
;D Was cleaning out my old junk and came across my old Wingman steering wheel. It is the LOGITECH formula force gp with force feedback.
Used to use this when playing the original "need for speed". I realise this is old by todays games, but can I still download anything that could give me a bit of fun? Did throw out most of my older cdrom`s.
My reactions today are a bit like Billies, ie. we would like to play, but holding the thought requires concentration.lol
Do I still need original cdrom¬s ?
cheers

Even if the controller is a little outdated it should still work fine for newer racing games.

Try a newer need for speed title, or perhaps a game from the burnout series.

Tks Synbios, Put wheel up ,still configures correctly. Did download original need for speed, but using 64bit ultimate vista and compatibility setting,I guess its too old to play.
But probably only just me as its 2.30am saturday morning and tired. Will try again tmw with slightly newer games, maybe rally etc.
Tks for your help.
cheers

Will try get some used games  poss tmw to get me running.

Had a tough time locally finding pc car games but have now purchased 3 games from Play.com on web.
These are not so recent but will get me thinking again.

Burnout Paradise
Need for Speed Most Wanted
GT Legends (older cars from billy`s era)

All cheap and free delivery.
Tks for your help.
cheers

ps.do I need original cdrom for wheel as gear pedals on wheel not showing gears and no gas.  compatibility settings again???

;D Since I`m talking to myself and subject near dead, will double post for last time.
Appears I have problems.basically vista 64 wont entertain games that are not digitally signed. When you think that a lot of older games back 5+ yrs ago were not signed. Even using compatability mode some will not play. Yes I know you can get various add ons but mainly for win xp and maybe vista 32bit. So may not be able to go. Only got one game yest "GT Legends" not signed.

End of story
cheers

I'll go out on a limb as I think the games you have from 5 or more years ago are for 32bit platforms and your running a 64bit platform with Vista.
