Nothing above V2.0.35 works on my computer
Murtu:
Nothing above V2.0.35 works on my computer. When I do a search ! next to the websites names under the Status column and of course no search results. I have tried V2 Build 46, 47 & 48 - noneof these work. Reinstalled Build 35 and it works perfectly. Any ideas anyone?

not sure.
1. go to Options | Preferences | Connection and make sure you have 'Direct Connection' enabled
2. tell me your Windows version and language
3. tell me your Anti Virus and Firewall
4. what happens when you try About | Update Scripts | Update ?
Murtu:
Oops my apologies - forgot the basic info and thanks for your super-fast response:

2. tell me your Windows version and language - Windows 7 English
3. tell me your Anti Virus and Firewall - Zone Alarm AV and Firewall
4. what happens when you try About | Update Scripts | Update ? - Nothing happens

OK.. need you to do a couple more things :)
1. try searching with Zone Alarm completely turned off. if that doesnt work.. proceed:
2. double check that Windows Firewall is completely turned off.. try searching and proceed:
Produce Connection Logs in Bit Che:
1. in Bit Che, go to File | 'Open App Data'
2. make a directory named 'logs'
3. Edit "settings.ini" and under "settings" add this line: debug=1
4. restart Bit Che and perform a search attempt
5. .zip up the files in /logs and send them to me. you can use the Contact page to send yourself a message and then reply back to me with the log files: http://www.convivea.com/contact.php
thanks

OK, with your help I eventually found the problem - Zone Alarm Firewall.
Under Application Control - View Programs - Bit Che - besides allowing the 4 settings to Allow - Outbound Trusted, Outbound Internet, Inbound Trusted and Inbound Internet, I also had to click on the Options and change the Serurity, Trusted Level and Send Email settings as well.
Haven't rebooted yet but I'm sure everything will be OK.
Thanks for your help and for a very good program Chip.
