Edit 2:
Lovin it so far!  ;D

Listen to it all the way through at least twice before you judge it. I personally was disappointed when I first got it (on the day it was released... being a chili's fan) but by the next day (after going through the whole album) I thought it's one of the best they ever made... it really appealed to me.

I like it. Consistent quality, though I wish it had a bit more variety.
I wasn't surprised to see another california song  :P , but it all really is pretty good. I'll listen to it a few more times before really judging it, though.

Edit 2: Changed my mind, again.

what does that mean?

The California song refers to Dani, mentioned in Californication (teenage girl with the baby inside) and By The Way (By the way I tried to say, I'd be there waiting for, Dani's the girl is Singing songs to me). I just love the solo  :o

At first, I thought it needed variety. Then I listened to some more and thought it didn't. After listening through the whole album a couple of times, I decided I was right the first time. Not much originality, and no risk. They're just sticking with the style that sells well.

Now that I've listened to it a few times, I've decided that it's like Britney Spears without the cliches and better quality. Enjoyable for a little while, but not enough beneath the surface. :( Sorry EB, just not my thing.

The "Drum's Not Dead" album, by Liars.

Edit: Alright, I was a bit harsh. It is better than Britney Spears. I just wish they'd take their talent, write something original, and not care what the sales chart says.

TheNightWatchman:
I still believe that's what their doing, it's just they're changing throughout their albums. It still has all the originality of their 1991 album (as I don't really like their previous stuff... exception of Higher Ground) just more relaxed about life.
