Where am I?

grr... this one is a little tricky.. to me it seems like you are going on a cruise leaving France and crossing the Mediterranean to some place like Turkey, Egypt, or Morrocco, not sure about vacationing to any of the other Persian countries in that region.. but if i'm way off, then i haven't the slightest idea here, haha.. hmm, i probably am but in any case, theres my 1 cent. :P

;D Nothing tricky about my questions.lol I am not leaving France. I am flying directly from Belfast. My first clue (sea crossing) has a french connection. An extra clue on the second part could be a famous equestrian. I am looking for the first part of his title to complete the 2nd half of my destination. Mediterrarean. Yes.

where as Alexander the Great was a famous horse riding Persian Imam (leader) and Napoleon once invaded Cairo (not your destination in Egypt?)
maybe still cold, but at least some of the clues seem better fitting, haha!

Ill ... means in French Malade.. I was thinking Maldives, but you did say Mediterranean.
So... I will go with Malacca even though i know its not in the Mediterranean...mmm...
