P2P TV
« on: October 30, 2007, 10:44:56 pm »
I'm trying to watch some football matches that are not on satellite TV where I am, and so I am testing out some P2PTV stuff, namely sopcast. Does anyone have any experience in this? The theory is awesome but the programs still have a little while to go.

This site was also useful

This sounds really interesting and I would like to use this stuff too considering I don't have cable in my apartment.

How do they show the live feeds? are they user maintained?

Well basically someone has to be a 'host' or 'seed' or whatever you want to call it, the same way in P2P, but as someone is downloading/streaming off them... the next person can download/steam off either of these two, etc etc.

It's not bad, the only problem is if there's a big match on (I watch it for the soccer when it's not on my TV here) it becomes really slow and hard to find a feed (you actually have to HAVE one in the first place...)

But internet TV is certainly getting there.

i agree with all you said, sopcast and tvants are the best programmes as for sites www.myp2p.eu is one of the best but i also use http://livefooty.doctor-serv.com/ and http://www.chavster.ulmb.com/ both are good for all the main soccer matches. as for getting a good stream it is usually recommended to start the the stream half an hour before the match( if poss )  to connect to all the peers. cant complain all are free

What about NFL games? Like last week when Dallas (10-1) played Greenbay (10-1) and it was on the NFL network only. That'd be very interesting.

I looked into those links posted above and could not get into the Chicago vs. Washington game (which the Redskins won 24-16 over da Bears).

Here's the link to the NFL network only games: http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork
