My mac won't charge.
« on: November 02, 2019, 06:54:21 am »
I have a 13-Inch Mid-2012 MacBook Pro. Last week it wouldn't charge. My charger was all ripped up and beat up but still worked then one day it just stopped so I figured it was that. I then got a new MagSafe 60W charger next day Aired from Amazon. I plugged in the new charger and my MacBook booted back up. It was working fine but then a few times throughout the week my MacBook would stop charging randomly or when I would plug the MagSafe back into the MacBook it gps fleet tracking
wouldnt charge. So I would unplug from the MacBook and wall outlet and just shake and bang on the cubed adapter part a little bit and it would start charging again. This happened probably about 5-6 times in that week but last night it just stopped. It won't charge at all. I've done everything from unplugging to checking pins in the MagSafe to resetting the SMC and nothing will work. Is there anything else I can do before I take it to the Apple Store??? Need help asap please

Dude, you’ve already done enough. If it’s still not working, why stress about it? Just take your Mac to a specialist and let them fix it up for you. I’m always amazed by people who don’t know how to do something but still insist on trying to fix it without any help from experts.

I’m the opposite, I love figuring things out, even if it takes me a ton of time. I’m really into finding solutions on my own. Of course, this doesn’t really apply to fixing stuff when something’s broken. But recently, I learned a bit about how the host file works on Mac https://setapp.com/how-to/edit-mac-hosts-file and how to easily change it. I think it’s a cool way to restrict access to certain websites, like if you’re giving your devices to kids.
