The only thing that matters between a mobo and graphics card is the specific slot they use / have.

Many posts on computer/tech forums show that the new GDDR3 in latest cards incorporated into the older AGP boards/slots will not work, and assuming that the Gigabyte mobo has been out for some time,may have a problem.

I've never heard of this...
You need to post on the manufacturers support forum or something.

Went through everthing again. It was a faulty processor. Changed over to the spare P4 and have signal to monitor . spend my spare time installing WinXP to SATA hard drive/drivers etc. Will let you know in next few days.
