Well, anyone that pays attention to the EPL will know that Man United are top got of to a flyin winnin start to the season and have still maintained that throughout. I think everyone is expecting Man United to go thru a "bad spell" but personally as a supporter i cant see that happenin really. Who knows i guess we'll see.. whats ppls views on this?

Wow liverpool won a game? As an Arsenal supporter, and a few of my mates being Liverpool supporters... was a fun FA Cup/Carling Cup weekend last week. They must have got pretty pissed off at the 6-3, and 3-1 scores and put out a force against Chelsea haha!
Hmmm Arsenal V Man U tonight though eh?

;D Keep that thought. .lol You will now notice how quiet the Man U fans have become.
At least Rooney scored one in their 2-1 DEFEAT by Arsenal.
Like I said Hic-CUP.

What I still don't understand from watching that game, is how up himself Christiano Ronaldo is... he's the pretty boy with an attitude! Which is a shame because he sort of floats around the pitch like no one else is there haha.

I see CHELSEA are back to their winning ways tonight ::)
cheers
Latest news 2nd half 3-0 for CHELSEA and looking for another ;D
Ops`sss just got the fourth. 4-0 final score for the mighty BLUES ::)
-
The young Gunners who seem to be regulars in the Carling Cup drew 2-2 with Tottenham Hotspur (which was a pretty good effort considering one of the Tottenham goals was an own goal, and the guy who stuck it in his own net came back and scored 2 goals to equalise!). There's no chance of them taking us at the Emirates so it looks to be an Arsenal v Chelsea Carling Cup final\
Btw: Tex did you forget that your "mighty" blues drew 1-1 with the same team... when they didn't have the luxury of their own stadium? They're a 2nd Division team for crying out loud!

;D CHELSEA likes to make fans of other teams think they are not at top form. Then the BLUES wipe the board clean near the end. Tactics are everything.lol

Gah! What a terrible game! Hopefully by the next time, Gilberto and van Persie will be back to stop this weird bad luck we have against Bolton.
-
;D Man U had an easy win over Spurs 4-0. What will happen when they have to play a real premiership team. The end is close ::)
BLUE days are closing in.
cheers
-
Hmm... Arsenal drew 1-1 with Middlesbrough... They got a penalty and Senderos got sent off, but in the replay it's clearly a dive! (He put his hand on his shoulder and the guy did a superman... but that's not what this card ready ref saw!)

l'm ashamed to say...so did ronaldo on sunday :(

ha! Well I'm sure he deserved it. I remember during the Arsenal match he went up to Eboue I think it was and was shouting "what? what? what? what?" arrogantly at him -- I really don't like his attitude.

What you guys think of the England v Spain match? Pretty poor performance wasn't it? A shame I thought they'd make it a good match after seeing their confidence at the beginning but no, a typical England performance really only having 1 striker for the majority of the match (they called Wright-Phillips a striker but he's hardly one is he?) and you can just see the difference when they put Defoe on. Still very pulled back performance.
-
I would say their performance was absolute crap, and they know it >:(
-
;D. Live update-- Middlesborough 2 Man U 1 game almost finished, FA Cup.
Hope I dont have to listen to Billies sad tones tonight.lol Maybe Rooney will get one more before the final whistle.
cheers
;D OP`ssss Man U got a lucky penalty in the dying moments and Ronaldo scores ::)
Final score 2-2

do l sense a tiny bit of apprehension here Tex?, is the premiership slipping away from Chelsea? are you worried that Chelsea might have to face us in the Champions League? is Man U going to win The F A cup? thereby winning the treble, AGAIN, ::)
-
;D Where are all the ManU fans tonight. Some in italian bars drowning sorrows,Some behind italian bars, and some skulking home to their local to say how they had been robbed. ::) Will CHELSEA meet ManU in champions league.??
cheers

CL semi-final dates confirmed
The last-four fixtures have now been finalised following Wednesday's action.
Sir Alex Ferguson's United side remain on course to try and repeat the legendary 1999 Treble season and could reach their first Champions League final in eight years.
They will meet Milan, six-times winners and beaten finalists in 2005, at Old Trafford on Tuesday April 24, with the second leg at the San Siro on Wednesday May 2.
Following their famous triumph in Istanbul two years ago, Liverpool could be three games away from lifting a sixth crown in Athens.
But they will first have to stage a repeat of the 2005 semi-final when they engineered a 1-0 aggregate win over Chelsea.
The Reds must travel to Stamford Bridge on Wednesday April 25, before losing to Jose Mourinho's Blues and then come to Anfield on Tuesday May 1 to lose again.
Final looks certain to be Chelsea v Milan.

i have been looking at the football and decided that i would like to have a team over there... MU look to be the most impressive team, and considering that the coach has the surname of my old maiden name, it is concluded for me. So i am now a Manchester United supporter.
Sorry Tex, but I haven't seen much news about Chelsea, all we get over here is news about MU. I do hope Billy doesn't mind me barracking for them, hope he doesn't think a female will mozz them. mmmmm :(

All in a true sporting tradition.lol. Cant understand how they got a blue pitch? ;)
cheers
-
;D What I dont understand in tonights ManU match, how Rooney got a yellow card in the 28th minute and another yellow card at 41minutes and still on the field to score on the 49th.
beats me.? CHELSEA FOR THE QUAD!! Strangely quiet from ManU fans. ManU could only draw 1-1 with Middlesborough today 21/4/07.

-
Wonder how long the peace will last... i am sure there are some more games they will fire up over.. ::)
-
Well Arsenal v Chelsea tonight -- if Chelsea lose they're out of the running for premiere league.
Then there's the Chelsea v Man U FA Cup Final...
So yep.. there will be more nudges and winks when a blue or red team wins no doubt
-
mmmmmmmmmmm.... okay.. well seeing as i have taken on a team i must stick with them, and i am supporting Arsenal tonight.. mmm... yes..
*Cissie nods her head*
*Cissie thinks this is a wise choice*
*Cissie also tinks it may be a night for biting fingernails in Tex's house*
*Cissie throws Tex a bottle of Jack Daniels, to help with the night*
May the best team win.. hehehehe
*Cissie runs very quickly*

woo hoo................ thanks for the info Billy........ now i have to really get my esp going on the boys.. mmmmmmmmmmmm
;D What Billy forgot to tell you is that Arsenal did not win the game . It was a 1-1 draw and Man U through by default. ::)
cheers
-
No matter Tex i do believe that Man U were plenty enough points to get through anyway, so they are still worthy of their placement. mmmmm.. i am beginning to sound lilke a real one eyed supporter aren't i. Don't think Billy likes me supporting them.. promising to hit my smack button, unless he has other intentions which i do believe are very ungentlemanly like.. :o
-
wel cissie.. it's only because of Chelsea's goalkeeper (The BEST in the league IMHO) got injured in the early part of this season.. ::)
We'll be back and get that trophy of to Stamford bridge next season.. (If Mourinho still coach the team) 8)
-
I'm learning, give me time... just have to try to understand the rules of the game next.. hehe.... :-X
-
You gotta watch out for the Arsenal next season -- no (or maybe 1) new player, unlike the 10 or so this season. All players have more experience and hopefully van Persie and Henry won't get injured early again...
-
I am so excited.... i can actually watch the game next week between Manchester United and Chelsea.. it is going to be televised on our telly at 10.30pm Saturday night, so i do believe that should be live.. that would be 1.30 pm UK time.mmmmmmm.. so now i can try to see what the game is all about..
Will have to get myself something to chew on as i don't wish to wreck my nails... hehe

Norty Tex... should smack you for that... thats telling big whoppers... mmmmmmmm... Billy will get you for that one i am sure. I will be watching the game... and i will not prejudge the outcome.. i feel that that will give bad karma. mmmmmmmmmmmm... in saying that.. i hope there are not too many cocky Man U people out there.
No.. because Eurovision was on... and i must say.. i didn't like the outcome but oh well... i really enjoyed Latvia.. and Russia.

;D Sad people watch Eurovision contest. The songs that are put forward are not a true reflection of what the public would like to see their country represented by. Some highly paid moron picks the worst and most outrageous act. Its a long way from a song contest.lol
There! I`ve said my piece. ::)
cheers
-
i'm not sad Tex. I actually think its humourous.. well at least the Aussie comemtator is who is talking when the votes are given out.. so easy to pick which country is going to give its points too. How poor Sweden still are looking for another Abba.. etc etc. There are a couple of good ones, but i really enjoy the humerous side of it all. How that country came number 2 this year beats me... that was a joke, and serbia it seems stole the winning song from Armenia from 2006... interesting stuff.
-
Congratulations to all the Chelsea supporters. I stayed up and watched my first game of football last night.. as a beginner this is what i noticed.. and remember, i know nothing of the game at all.
Coaches.. Alex Ferguson is a very cool cucumber... like the man.. however his gum chewing could be a little modified.
Jose Mourinho, needs to learn to smile a little.. will give himself a hernia.. could take a cool lesson from Ferguson.
The game last night... the first half i felt was so damn boring.. cautious even, looked like they were almost scared of each other.
Second half.. more entertaining, however i noticed that Chelsea had it over ManU in team support. There were too many loose players around, and it was difficult for a player to have a back up on the MU side.. this is where Chelsea had it over them.. even if it was just for one goal.
Teams.... Hands down that MU have the spunky hunks... no denying that... all hotties.. don't think much of the other lookers on the chelsea side.. besides i was too busy looking at the ones in red, down right drop dead gorgeous, and remember, i am a female and we do "perv" on footballers.. Ronaldo, is a spunk, Rooney is gorgeous, and the list goes on. It won't be my last match i watch, even if it is only for a perv.. :)
Alex Ferguson summed up in the news by saying..
"It's hard to take...but the important thing is to accept it and get on with it."
-
;D ;D ;D ;D
Greetings from sunny Spain. will only be on for a minute (internet cafe) Has anyone heard how the match went???? He He.
cheers
-
I was planned to watch the match in MU Cafe (ofiicial MU franchise) where my buddies are the home band at the cafe (it's for the free entry 8)), but unfortunately the place is so crowd and even they close the gate because there's no more space inside.
So I drove and find me a place where I can watch for free.. Found it! I watch the game just about Drogba made the goal!
Couldn't be more happier that night! ;D ::) ;D
CHELSEA'S ON THE WAY!!

;D Glad to see Weera is keeping all these RED team supporters on their toes, Just back today, What a sad 1st week watching MAN U and Liverpool supporters dragging themselves from the bars (in Spain). ;D
Still what can a man do but enjoy the sunshine, a few visits to Gibraltar where a litre of vodka/brandy/scotch costs £2-3, local Spanish wine at 60-70 pence a litre, and cigarettes at 50-90 pence a pack. It was tough but I made it back.
WEERA for president.lol

Oh dear. Spurs are 3-0 up at home to Man United on 29th September 2001. In a bid to impress his girlfriend, one unfortunate Tottenham fan stakes his entire mortgage on his boys to win the game. Cue Veron's only decent game for United who go on to maul Spurs 5-3 and a very embarrassed punter going home to an empty house.
cheers

well.. i finally have something to post about in this thread, haha.
The Galaxy vs Chelsea July 21st..
say what you want, but Beckham really will get me to watch a lot more MLS and in turn, Europe soccer (err, football) matches. ;D
i love the game (especially after living in Spain for 5 months), but in my opinion, we really did need a super star over here to help ignite US interest in the sport.
-
Hey Chip.............Iwould have come over for a lot less than Beckham ::)

Yes to all of the above.lol Tony Dorsett what a great athlete. Warren Moon just took over when I left in 1986. Staubuck had his ups and downs. Troy doesnt stick in my mind. Thinking of Billy, do you remember the huge guy that played for the "Washington Redskins" nicknamed "The Fridge"(or Refrigerator),used to run straight through about 10 defenders at a time.lol (must google that)

yeah, it's a good idea, we've done that a few times in the past..........kind of let the underdogs have a bit of limelight, it's good for the game ;)

As I previously said there is nothing to stop you opening an NFL thread. We have quite a few members in USA and UK who enjoy the sport and I`m sure you will get a following.

Are the Chelsea money men feeling ok?
Their only major signings being Ben Haim, Sidwell and Malouda.
They didn't try and buy Ronaldinho this time? ::)
Although I see Man U have got Tevez :( I rather hoped Arsenal would grab him after Henry left... or for him to stay in West Ham, that would have been a sight.
It seems Liverpool are the ones spending their money over the summer.
-
Glory glory Man United, glory glory Man United, glory, glory Man United, and the Reds go marching on, on, on.................... up yours Chelsea he he he
Edwin Van Dersar saved three penalties, and won the match for us last saturday...yippeeeeeeeee

;D ;D ;D Cissie this was only a friendly match as the season has not yet started. ManU had theiir full team on the field while CHELSEA were down to 50% due to injuries, Dont count your chickens yet. As Mr Mourinio said.
"But what makes me really happy and confident is that one side was a team almost in the maximum of their power if you look at Manchester United's team last season and the team they played here.
"If you look at the Chelsea team, we are speaking about less than 50% of the team. But we competed against them. They were not better than us, I am not going to say we were better than them but it is fair to say nobody was better than anybody. That has given us confidence for the start of the season against Birmingham."
We will watch you cry later. ;D

can't argue with that Tex..
full team versus half team and they only could win it by penalty.. sad may I say.. lol
as I said earlier...
Chelsea's on the way!

Well weera, its strange how things can turn around in one day. CHELSEA had a comfortable win over Birmingham, while the mighty Man U could only manage a 0-0 draw againsts Readings 10 men. Definetly going to be a BLUE year with Arsenal in 2nd place. ;D
cheers
-
Oh Yeah.............dream on guys ::) Birmingham put two goals past Chelsea....they are going to leak goals all season...he he he
-
after watching all the highlights from the weekend, i think arsenal will not be far away this season.
still playing nice footy and look like they will always score goals.
they are my pick for this year.
-
;D ;D ;D Dear weera and gringo. this is an open note to all those Man U fans out there.
They failed again with a 1-1 draw with Portsmouth today. (Downhill this season). Meanwhile the mighty CHELSEA had another win against Reading. What can I say. Its been a BLUE,BLUE day ;D
cheers
With billy only on once a week .and cissie probably working long hours we wont see much opposition this season.
Arsenal still doing well. That will please NightWatchman.lol
-
Don't you believe it Tex, and Co'................we will be here rubbing yer blue noses in it all season ;)
-
Ditto what he said... even if we don't win, look out when you guys lose one now..hehehehehe.... rub rub rub.... :-*
-
;D ;D ;D I`m not at my desk right now, but I just heard a terrible rumour. Man City beat Man U 1-0 today,
perhaps Billy or cissie would be able to give me an update?? :-[

;D Does that mean that Man U are very near the bottom of the league table? Nice to see CHELSEA didn't lose their match with Liverpool.
Strange low key start for Man U , perhaps they will pick up the pieces later and save themselves from relegation.
cheers
Cant wait for my mate Weera to see this. I`m sure he will be very underhand with his comments ::)
-
That's okay.. we have some injury, need to re-group and get things sorted.. all in due time boys.. all in due time. I am not in the slightest bit worried, never know, we may just fly home in the end.. its very early days yet, so don't let's get too cocky with your Chelsea team yet.

So am i Tex.. you would be wanting huge dividends in the first days... time is of the essence, i am a great believer in long time investments.. more rewarding, and give better results in the end.. ::)

Hmmm.. a litle comment then Tex..
Chelsea #1, Arsenal #2, ManU...you can pick any number but not that two.. ::) ::) ::) LOL

enjoy while you can guys.............. ;) he who laughs last, laughs longest :D

enjoy while you can guys.............. ;) he who laughs last, laughs longest :D
;D ;D The three Chelseateers (weera, gringo and texasboy) are stiffling their laughter to see what next week brings. Surely there is a win in there somewhere for Sir Alex ? Big money spent but was it wisely . We hope you win at least one game this season.
cheers
-
he he he............the three dreamers more like ::)
you guys fail to see 'Fergie's strategy, as do most managers in the premiership. the same team winning every season creates lack of interest, this means less bums on seats, ergo, less revenue.
come on guys, even Chip could see that.....
:D
-
;D, Why is it that all the UK countries can win their games tonight except England?(friendly or qualifiers)
N. Ireland/Scotland/Wales all won their games, yet England keep slip sliding away. ::) Any Man U players on the team?
cheers
-
there were more Chelsea players............no wonder we bloody lost :(
-
Back to your corners boys.... ;)

cheers
-
Incorriagable ................ both of you.
Well just remember this year, Cissie has the big stick, and will slap either of you if you go to far with the footy... we don't wish to have any black eyes in the forum... would make it look tacky. hehehehehe....
At least i have one little bit up my sleeve Billy... Tex doesn't like to see Chelsea put in pink but he did it to MU so many times last year, i thought it was time for pay backs.... hehe.... I support Mr. Billy with his footy team Tex, hahahahaha.... but i still wubs you too. ((hugs))

Man U play tmw against a poor Tottenham Hopspur team, so shouldnt have any problems getting a draw ::)
Update--- Would you believe it, I was s`oooo close. Only a last min goal saved Man U from the bottom of the table. Lucky sods.
-
;D ;D. Nice little fixture this weekend.
Man U v Sunderland (Saturday). A real chance of another upset since Sunderland would not normally be considered a real threat to the almost unbeatable Reds ;)
Then on sunday we have Chelsea v Aston Villa. A close one, but a goal will see us through.
Your thoughts pls. ;D
cheers
-
Well it seems everyone wrote off Arsenal as soon as Henry left. I must say, not doing too badly ;D
Although 1 game behind so not much to compare really (but no losses...)
I wish Wenger had signed Quaresma from Porto... ah well Chelsea decided to give us their "next Makelele".
Playing Portsmouth tomorrow. They are getting quite good lately, but a win shouldn't be too difficult.
-
Tex.. MU won their game.. ahem... hahahahaha...
Sheez.. i think i have been listening to Billy for too long.
-
dear oh dear...Jose's face was a picture all thru the 2nd half, and mr abranovich was none to happy either.
things must be bad down chelski way when they cant beat a side from Birmingham.
lets hope its not a blip and it continues for a few more weeks.
cmon the gunners, playing fab footie and back to winning ways.

ahem.... my thoughts don't really matter, however the ones in the paper say it all...
Chelsea often demonstrated their class but as usual they struggled at Villa Park despite some tenacious play from the likes of Didier Drogba, John Terry, Alex and Michael Essien.(http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/15/36119kl8.gif)

;D Unacustomed as I am to hear that the mighty BLUES had a slight mishap on sunday. The NWM has a very valid point that indeed Arsenal need to be considered in the race, Doing real well this season. Had to scroll down quite a bit to find Man U.lol
cheers

I was wondering how Liverpool got a goal difference that high... then I watch the weekend highlights... 6-0 derby... looks like they should have stayed in the championship...

;D This should be interesting.
15-09-2007

Room for upsets again. And of course no post would be complete without a quote from the master himself.
Mourinho predicts open season
Mon 03 Sep 2007
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is predicting the Barclays Premier League title race will be more open this season after seeing Aston Villa end his side's 18-match unbeaten run.
It was their first league defeat since losing to Liverpool at Anfield in January.
But Mourinho feels the money spent this summer by Villa and other sides outside of the top four will mean more surprise results could happen in the next nine months.
The Chelsea boss said: "There has been a big input by teams outside of the top four so it will become more normal for the big teams to lose matches and points.
"The other teams have spent lots of money and brought players in to bolster their teams. Villa are one example but you can find a lot of other examples
"It will be more difficult to play against these teams because they are better. The league is open but it is the first weekend of September and we are only five matches into the season."
cheers
-
Can work the other way though... spending lots of money = starting players not used to playing in England and the team.
-

I agree with yer there Banana ;)
-
;D Its probably the same for all the teams when they buy imports. They usually fit in after a few games and maybe an invite to "winkers" parties.lol
cheers
-
all the "imports" in the English game will have a detrimental effect in years to come. the national team, will struggle when there will be a lack of home grown talent.
-
The England team played well yesterday, for once, when they beat Israel 3-0. Let's hope they play as well Wednesday when they meet Russia ;)

;D If they hadn`t have beat Israel you would have had a lot to answer for. It`s a shame they had`nt played N. Ireland again and got their ass whipped for the 2nd time ;D
cheers

not been one to stir things up....23 points might not be enough.
englands last 3 games are
13/10/07... ENGLAND v ESTONIA should win that one with a bit of luck
17/10/07 RUSSIA v ENGLAND dont think another shock will be on the cards here
21/11/07 ENGLAND v CROATIA squeaky bum time and another Englang manager sacked
-
IF England continues to play like the last two games, I can't see any probs Gringo ;D
-
17/10/07 RUSSIA v ENGLAND dont think another shock will be on the cards here
Shock? What are you kidding? Russia are hardly known for their top football team are they. Although I was impressed with their performance against England, they just didn't have a chance 8)
I'd also like to remind you of something:
Estonia 0-3 England, 6 June 2007, Estonia only have 1 win. I don't think it will be luck that gets an England win there.
I think now that England are a little more settled, the game against Croatia will be a great one. Hopefully Arsenal's new striker doesn't get too many goals (3 from 2 games for Croatia over the weekend!)
-
;D On the premier side this weekend Arsenal v Spurs ,maybe a little upset????
Getting off football for a brief moment. Wasnt it great to see S.Africa show England how to play rugby tonight.
Final score Eng 0 S Africa 36. What a whitewash.lol
cheers
-
OMG Tex.........I don't watch rugby, but what a drubbing :(

do I detect a wee little bit of disappointment here Tex ::)..................................... :D
Yes and no . With all the money paid out by premier clubs for new players. You would think that the game should be more exciting. At the moment I probably would enjoy going to watch some of our schoolboy teams play than watch the cr*p that is being played on TV. And Chelseas goal was ligitament as the player came up from behind to score. For once the linesman was wrong Hope it picks up soon. ;D
cheers
-
oh dear what can the matter be,
jose murinio has gone and left chelsea,
was he pushed or did he fall,
poor guy always had his back to the wall,
he couldn't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear,
that awful team became too bad to bear,
try rugby, jose, you might have more success,
it's pretty similar, more or less,
or a ladies hockey team might improve your luck
if they don't win, you might at least get a reccommendation.
:D
-
I was quite surprised to hear about this. I remember at the end of last season, at the end of the Arsenal 1 - 1 Chelsea draw that ended Chelsea's opportunity to take the premiere league, Mourinho went to the Chelsea fans and told them to keep their heads up, that there is always next season. It seemed he really did love the club... and it seems that the money has forced him out (the billionaire's rules are final... why businessmen never succeed at sports?).
Either way
Arsenal 3 - 0 Sevilla :P
-
;D Arsenal are doing a bit of all right this season.
I see Chelsea have put a new aftershave on the market It`s called "GONE" by Hugo Boss. (You Go Boss) and dedicated to Jose ::)
cheers
-
;D ;D ;D Plese come back Mr Mourinho. All is forgiven.lol
cheers
-
Man U defeated Chelsea 2- 0
Way to go ............ that puts Man U second on the ladder.. and drops Chelsea down to 6th place.. nice little turn around... :)
-
Glory, glory, Man United, ....glory, glory, Man United, ....glory, glory, Man United,.... and the REDS go marching on on on.
are you feeling a bit 'blue' Tex and co???.........aaaaaaw never mind you might beat Man City if you up yer game a bit.............he he he

Excuses, excuses.............watch this space..........'cmon you REDS...LOL

Tevez should have stayed with the Hammers ::) ;D
-
And it's Arsenal...
Top of the table with another win...
Arsenal...
-
And Chelsea slip past Valencia 2-1 tonight ;D
Dont rate the new management yet. Would rather still have Jose at the wheel, at least we knew where he was coming from
cheers
-
;D Arsenal/Man U/Chelsea all won this weekend. and a last minute goal by Liverpool against Spurs kept them going.
All topsy turvy but plenty of time for everyone.
cheers

I noticed the Chelsea supporters are keeping fairly quiet these days ::)

Funny thing that Billy, i noticed the same thing...... poooooooooorr Tex.. ((hug))

dream on Tex....even Sir Alex himself couldn't pull Chelsea out of the s**t this year ::)

I bloody hope England win these games. It's only Estonia and Russia! Should be easy wins, but hard to tell with Mr Middlesbrough. Ah well Rooney is back... and Heskey is dropped?!? Seems stupid considering the Owen-Heskey pair worked so well. I just wonder if Lampard will be played.
-
I would play the same England team as in the last two games, he can always change second half, and I would definitely play Lampard ;D

erm... Lampard was injured in the last two games?
Barry is tipped to start this weekend though, maybe Lampard will play out wide.

What a load of Crap.....that is the last England game i go out of my way to watch.
stunning goal by Rooney, but the stupid twit negates it by causing a penalty!!!!! ::)
-
;D ;D Thank goodness my money was on Russia. A nice little return.lol
Maybe now we wont have to listen to all the hyped up cr*p the english media has to offer. Like when NI 1 England 0 He He.
cheers
-
Haha I thought you'd say something like, it was because no Lampard (until the end) and no Terry ::)
-
I'll get yer Tex...(http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v142/billyfridge/emoticons/15362ba8.gif)
-
Haha I thought you'd say something like, it was because no Lampard (until the end) and no Terry ::)
Why didn't he play the team that played so well the previous two games???????????? :-[
-
Yes that did seem stupid.
Also stupid to drop Heskey.
-
;D ;D ;D Go Arsenal. 7-0 tonight
cheers
-
I know and it wasn't on the TV!!! The satellite TV we get here plays nearly all games from Premier League, FA Cup, Carling Cup and Champions League games... but not this one! I understand because it was pretty low profile compared to some of the other games, but still it would have been a great one to watch.
Onto Liverpool this Sunday. Should be interesting
(And Man U next week eh billy?... hmmm ;D)
-
Can't wait Banana ;D
-
;D ;D NWM a squeaky one today. Still Arsenal didnt lose. I predict 4-1 for you against Man U next week. And stop worrying about CHELSEA it`s all under control.
cheers
-
Squeaky? HA!
Should have win 3-1, had two good strikes off the post. The only reason they even scored was because the wall moved during a free kick and the ball went straight through :-\ It was one way traffic for pretty much the whole game.
Billy will be upset if its Arsenal 4-1 Man U, I don't think it will be quite a drobbing. Perhaps Arsenal 2-1 Man U, mmm especially with Mr Tevez (who, I might add, scored the goal to win 1-0 against us with West Ham last season... and possibly is my favourite striker not playing for Arsenal)
But there's no way you're winning at the Emirates Billy! ;D
Oh and Chelsea... 6-0! Haha was the City goal keeper hung over or something? :P
Gah, Fox Sports here isn't showing the carling cup match on wednesday. There isn't a good place to download/stream the games are there?
-
;D ;D Ah yes NWM I see what you mean 1-1 until the dying moments and Arsenal slip another one in when Rooney is sent off again.lol. Yes Chelsea surprised everyone but thats the way things will go to the final.
cheers
-
Don't think either one of us wanted a draw, but I'll take it :D
Was quite a good game... but this is what you get for only putting on 1 striker in the first half! At least he had 3 up there in the second.
And that was not an own goal! Rooney deserves cred.
-
;D ;D ;D LIVERPOOL what a match. Everytime I looked back another one was in the net.
Liverpool 8 Bestikas 0. Premier v 4th division ::) A turkey for xmas.lol
cheers
-
Wow, well I think they needed it (the win and the goal difference) if they want to stay in Champions League.
I think a... hmm lets say 3-0 victory for Arsenal will be on the cards today. Was 7-0 last time but I think being away might bring the goals down a bit. Walcott to start I hope!
Who are we playing this weekend? I haven't even looked... hope it CHELSEA... they're the only ones of the top 6 we haven't played... ;D
Oh and I see Chelsea have got back on top of their group table after a bit of a struggle at the start... Haha and Avarm is looking to buy Ronaldinho for "anything up to 100m pounds". This gets to the point when I think... how is that profitable? Sure he will bring a lot of fans to the club... but the money has already done that with the players they now have? I suppose January will see a few Chelsea players leave though, considering Mourinho has gone.
What do you think Tex, is Lampard going to stick around?
-
;D Lampard loves Chelsea. Chelsea loves Lampard, never mind the missed penalties, I think they will come to a suitable agreement.lol
cheers
-
Looks like Chelsea are going to buy Ronaldinho AND Lulinha haha! Looking for some tricky feet in the squad?
-
[From press conference]
“Fabregas is under contract with us. If Barcelona want to buy any player under contract then I’ll give them my phone number. But I think they have it because they just bought Thierry Henry.”
“Still would you be open to an offer?” enquired a journalist.
“No chance,” Wenger replied.
;D
Now lets hope Mirror/Guardian/Express/Star will all stop printing stories about Fab4 leaving to Barca/Real Madrid ::)

Premier league players trying to play world class football. England were crap and they know it. Even N. Ireland had a good scrap especially when you think that the cost of one Spanish player is more than the whole N.I. team gets in wages for a year. The pub is still your best bet NWM.lol
cheers
-
;D Might be dangerous to make a post at this time. Wins for Arsenal and Chelsea but Man U still wandering somewhere in Bolton. >:D.
Still Billy should have "Wonderman Rooney back in time for Fulham" lol.
Sir Alex Ferguson was sent to the stands as his title-chasing Manchester United side crashed to their first defeat since August via a 1-0 loss at Bolton.
Ferguson was dismissed by referee Mark Clattenburg for a half-time tunnel rant at a succession of minor decisions that had gone against his team.
And the United manager's mood could not have been improved by the sight of his side losing at Bolton for the first time since December 1978, nor the fact that the matchwinner, Nicolas Anelka, was a man he has tried to buy himself on several occasions.
Not that Gary Megson will be too bothered about that as his first win as Trotters boss swept his new charges out of the relegation zone for virtually the first time this season.
Dont you just love it.
cheers
-
pure luck for Bolton :-\

! First loss in 28 games...
I hope that won't taint our premier record... especially after the red devils took a blow! 3 points and a game ahead :)
And Villa have no chance ;D

True, especially considering Fabregas, Van Persie and Clichy could all be out through injury :-\
Hopefully Theo will start again!
How is Avarm Grant doing there Tex? I am yet to see a game where he is managing.
-
;D Chelsea starting to find a bit more form recently under new management. At the back of my mind Billy will be devastated if Jose gets the job as England manager. >:D
cheers
-
please dont mention England Tex.....it's a sore subject atm :'(
-
I actually agree with Wenger, when asked would he consider the England job he said, "the England manager should be English".
-

cough
A bit quiet around here.
cough
-
;D Premier league football is so boring. Even though Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0 in the Carling cup I dont seem to see the enthusiam . Are they all too evenly matched. Its almost like being on the PC and waiting for Billy to reply to "Where am I" >:D
Bit of a surprise for Arsenal sneaking past the best team in the league. I see it brought a slight smile. NWM.lol
cheers
-
You wanna see a Doc about that 'cough' Banana!!!!!.....it's not the 'cough' that carries you off, it's the coffin they carry you off in.
Poor Tex..........come back Drogba, all is forgiven..............he he he
-
It really should have been 3-0 though... ok 1 was offside (doubtful... but ok) and the other was a foul? I have no idea. Either way Ade-Bay-Or should be top scorer ::)
He'll just have to stick a few to Spurs in a few hours ;D
I can see what you mean about evenly matched, but sometimes that makes for a really good game? Although at other times, quite like the Chelsea game, it was about breaking down Arsenal's flow and then trying to break on counter attack... which isn't very interesting to watch. Almost better to just watch the highlights.
Ah well drew AC Milan in the Champions League. THAT will be an interesting match, have no idea how he'll play that one
-
Hi there,
I would just like to announce that Svennis now are cruizin to victory in th PL and heading Champions League! - perhaps not :P
Why don`t they build on the sucessful start they had in PL this year? Any other City fans around here perhaps?
-
Hi Flick ;D
oh no!!!!!!.........not a City fan ::)

Yup, Burnley for the cup. Arse-en-NIL, Burnley 1 ::)
cheers
-
here is a poem i made earlier........
oh dear what can the matter be,
jose murinio has gone and left chelsea,
was he pushed or did he fall,
poor guy always had his back to the wall,
he couldn't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear,
that awful team became too bad to bear,
try rugby, jose, you might have more success,
it's pretty similar, more or less,
or a ladies hockey team might improve your luck
if they don't win, you might at least get a reccommendation.
:D
-
Well I was watching the Arsenal - Birmingham City game at a friends house (who are all Australian and disliked football, trying to convince me that football = aussie rules... yes it's pretty much impossible to tell an englishman that) and I had to admit that THIS game was crap (as they constantly reminded me). So slow and boring, all in their half just couldn't get a goal. And then to lose a goal over a sloppy corner... well I just laughed when I saw the 6-0 Newcastle drubbing. ::)
At least Fulham will get one next week.
-
6-0.....OMG......that's my boys....he he he
-
;D ;D NWM will be holding his xxxx in disbelief tonight. >:D
Spurs 5 Arsenal 1. What a great game. Even though the gunners had great stats they didnt pull through.
cheers
-
Ha I'm surprised you know that stuff is everywhere in Aus.
All I can say is:
Arsene Wenger on the Carling Cup being a priority ...
"Not at all frankly."
Still, would have been nice to win it... haha. Oh well good experience for the young ones... Newcastle on the weekend :)
-
;D ;D actually the xxxx wasnt refering to Castlemaine.lol H`Mmmm.
Well another good night for the BLUES, beat Everton 1-0
Chelsea starting to settle down and do the business.
cheers
-
It's surprising how quiet this thread goes when MANCHESTER UNITED are on top of the Premiership League ;)
we have just beaten Tottenham 3-1, so have got through to the last 16 of the FA cup....''c'mon you REDS''.... he he he
-
;D When do the BLUES meet the REDS again?
Missed the last part of the match today. When I left it was 1-1 . still a good win for ManU
Now when are you gonna answer "where am I" ;D
cheers
-
WOO HOO.

;D.
NWM, nice one coming up for you (man u) Still a 2-1 win for your favorite will make you smile..lol
cheers
;D And of course tonight Arsenal 3 Newcastle 0 Tops again ::)

haha can't be for too long... look at the amount of posts that are up lately... Arsenal must have gone back on top or something ::)
-
Yeah...only because Arsenal has played one game more than us Banana ::)
-
;D ;D
When the RED >:D >:D >:D`s came out to play,
Manchester City blew them away
cheers
-
We got well and truly beaten by Man City....no excuses, we deserved to lose.
one good thing about the game, both sets of fans behaved impeccably, before, during, and after the game.
I was so upset i went out and washed my car [yes]
-
;D ;D Wash yer car again.lol
Arsenal,Arsenal,Arsenal. Top of the pops.
And others lurking.
cheers
-

You gotta play us yet, there's three points we'll get back :D
-
I like your honesty Billy in saying you went and washed your car. Was far better than going and kicking the neighbours cat [happy]
-
We'll be back to win the league! ::)
-
OMG....Birmingham 2 Arsenal 2.......Arsenal dropped 2 points, and against 10 men as well, in the premiership.
[clap] [clap] [clap] [clap] [clap]
-
It's true, should have killed off the game, but Eduardo's injury no doubt had a big effect. It was so bad that they wouldn't show replays!
Still 3 points ahead too Billy ;)
-

I'll tell you what, if Manchester United DOESN'T win the premiership, i will donate £10 to Convivea, if they DO, you guys have to hit my Karma button 10 times.............DEAL??????

Fulham 0...Man U 3.............Arsenal 1...Aston Villa 1 :D
I'll get a loverly bunch of karma points, la la la la de de de de de de [high5]
[rofl]
-
Still 1 point ahead billy... but I agree. Got the ball bouncing around all over the place, but not in the back of the net (except for Senderos putting it in the Arsenal net). Got a lucky scrape to pull out the point.
If we play like this at the San Siro, Milan will crush us!
-
;D ;D
CHELSEA,CHELSEA, CHELSEA.
What a team, winners again tonight in the Champions League.
cheers
-
We are doing very well, 3 English teams in the last 8 of the Champions League.
What's the betting that two of the English teams are drawn to play each other?? [rolleyes]
-
Arsenal v Man U again? After beating Milan @ Milan I think we'd give you a run for your money ;D
-
;D ;D Both Man U and Chelsea got beat today, Both out of the FA cup, Its only football.lol
Still got my sense of humour.
Billy is watering his pint down with his tears. >:D
cheers
-
Boo hoo :'(.................the only consolation i got is that Arsenal, and Chelsea are out as well.
didn't want the FA cup anyway [bobdown]

smart ass......................lol
-
Rio almost saved the penalty though. Didn't think he would be the (3rd) keeper. I've only seen that 3 times now I think, John Terry, some guy from Sheffield Wednesday or something, and now Ferdinand.
-
;D What a game. Chelsea leading 2-1 at half, but final result Spurs 4 Chelsea 4. Super game.
cheers
-
Sounds like it was a cracker tex :O
Ronaldo double! How good is this guy man ;D
My other team - rangers only drew 1-1 in the cup. Kris Boyd to the rescue again!
I was at bloody work so I didnt get a to catch any of the action :(

-
Haha you won't be saying that after they beat Chelsea this weekend ;)
It's ridiculous how close Man U, Arsenal and Chelsea are though, anything could happen!
-

;D did I hear someone say they would beat CHELSEA LOL
Still 7 games to go . Plenty of time yet. >:D
cheers
-
Well we did deserve to beat you in my opinion. Played well enough but then one good goal and one completely asleep defence was all it took. Didn't have the stamina in the end. From the performances over the weekend, it deserves to be 1. Man U, 2. Chelsea, 3. Arsenal, 4. Liverpool in my opinion.
STILL play Man U soon... and Liverpool 3 times.
-
Liverpool are doing good Banana......grrrr.....bloody scousers >:(
I thought I'd just mention that Man U beat Arsenal 2-1 today [high5]..so we're almost there...10 Karma points hmmmm [happy]
-
Gr you guys were lucky to win that! But we're well out now, and with the Chelsea draw, well unless they beat Man U then you red devils have done it again haven't ya.
-

As it stands we can lose to Chelsea, and providing we win the other matches, we will still win. but knowing Man U, we will prob win Chelsea, and lose to some team in the relegation area :(

cheers
-
0 for Chealsea...prob about 3-4 for Man U [LOL!]
-
;D just got back from a great trip to Donegal, Even took the ferry from Greencastle to Magilligan NI. Missed all the football action today. Can anyone give me an update on the CHELSEA v Man U game.
Was Billies predictions correct or was this a lot of Ballacks? >:D
cheers
-
Why did he leave Tevez on the bench??
Final sub (only tactical one as the others were for injuries) Anderson off for O'Shea...
?? ???
There are so many leaders in Chelsea. Ballack could easily captain the team permanently (although Terry is the perfect captain for the team).
-
;D Notice how quiet Man U fans have become. Still they have almost got it sewn up after Bolton beats them 1-0 lol
cheers

cheers
-
;D good job nwm arsenal had another win today.
cheers
-
Ha it's funny to watch Arsenal play at the moment. They are literally walking around the pitch and just shooting, oh it missed, oh well, walk back... get the ball... walk back up... shoot yay we scored! It's hilarious.
And now Lehmann and Flamini are confirmed to be leaving (well Lehmann 99% according to Wenger). I'm actually quite happy about that... now all I want is for Bentner to leave and Wenger to change his mind about David Villa! But I don't see that happening so... be an interesting transfer season.
Down to the final day! Will Man U be able to survive that Wigan pitch?
-

never, never,never.lol

-
Alright quick before the weekend - predictions!
Obviously Arsenal 3rd, Liverpool 4th, but who will be first and second? Again Derby are relegated but two of Bolton Wanderers, Fulham, Reading or Birmingham City will also be relegated.
I reckon
Title - Man U (sorry Tex, I see a win a piece)
Downers -
Fulham (I see a a draw or loss against Portsmouth, taking them to 34 points)
Birmingham (even if they beat blackburn they'll still only be on 35 points)
which means Bolton losing to Chelsea, they will remaiin on 36 points, Reading beat Derby to be on 36 points.
In total
1st Man U (87 pts +57ish gd)
2nd Chelsea (87 pts +40ish gd)
...
16th Bolton (36 pts -20ish gd)
17th Reading (36 pts -26ish gd)
18th Birmingham (35 pts)
19th Fulham (33/34 pts)
20th Derby (11 pts - what a shocker!)
haven't looked at any bookies yet... should I place a bet?? :D
-
Well didn't expect Chelsea to only get a draw... or Fulham to do... what was it 4 wins in 5 games or something? What a way to pull themselves outta trouble!
All I can say is... there's no way ManU have that trophy next year so live it up while you can ;D
(10 karma points your way... Billy ::) )
-
Wow.... Billy will be such a proud man today. So happy for you Billy.. commiserations to you Tex and Night Watchman. Don't count your chickens for next year.. the current is now.. and Man U are the winners now, so let's not take anything away from them. They worked hard from behind the 8 ball to start, and followed through. It didn't come easy, and they had to work for it, so credit where due, and congratulations to them.
-
Thanx Banana.........I might still send Chip a tenner while I'm feeling magnanimous....he he he.
Tex has gone very quiet [hmm]

MANCHESTER UNITED................Champions of England........Champions of Europe

;D Sorry Billy, been away for a few days. Didnt even get to see the match. Well done!. Penalty shoot outs are exciting but really not a good way to end the contest.
Very evenly matched and could have gone either way.
Catch up later
cheers
