Hi,
For some reason Bit Che was not working this morning so i went to uninstall/ reinstall.
When i run the installer i keep getting two errors-
Error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:
MoveFile Failed; code 5
access denied
convivea\bit_Che\languages\compare.exe
&
Bit Che\Bit_Che.exe
I have uninstalled it, deleted the folders, rebooted, go to reinstall and keep getting these errors.
Any Ideas? Thanks
I also seem to be missing my reg info in my profile

Hi ash71, Because of time zones hopefully one of our BitChe Mods will see your message shortly.
Noticed that you are not enabled to the Guevara version of BitChe as yet.
cheers

is there an uninstaller anywhere that just gets rid of everything?
-
Well it can be uninstalled manually.
It creates 2 folders one normally "Program Files\Bit Che" & one in "Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\Convivea"
you will need to replace %USER% with your username (you shouldn't have any problem finding it with explorer)

Yeah those are the folders i said i deleted in the OP. I was thinking maybe some reg settings. i will try to find them when i get home from work tonight.

Good luck hunting for them the installer will add some so it can be uninstalled but apart from that it doesn't use the registry
-
Well thanks for the hint there Bovski. Any ideas on how to fix the problem?

what OS are you running ?
-
Winxp

Tried using a few different uninstallers but still have the same errors as above. Even after i remove the folders i can not install the program.

Hi ash71,
I was curious on where the original "Bit Che" program you installed came from ? There are a lot of sites that offer "Bit Che" like Cnet.com and other approved sites and some we may not know about here at Convivea.

Fuzzy

Downloaded them all from this site.
What i meant in that statement though was that i tried free add/remove programs, you know the ones that will force uninstalls and such.

AAARRGGG Webroot marks it as a Malware and blocks it!

thanks for the report... as of today, most of the AntiVirus companies have corrected their mistakes of reporting Bit Che as a virus/trojan (due to the file packer)..
http://www.virustotal.com/analisis/45cd5f055fbbca685a1cd46d95465c2d
regarding webroot, if you know how to submit a false-detection report, please do for Bit Che...
and in the mean time, look in your webroot software for 'ignore' or 'add exception' for 'Bit_Che.exe'
thanks!
