Title: Have you tried random chat while traveling?
Post by: Barob on September 17, 2025, 09:49:47 pm
Do you use random video chats to connect with people from places you’re visiting? Can it make travel more exciting or does it distract?

I actually love using random video chat when I travel. It’s a fun way to get local tips directly from people who live there, or just to have a friendly chat when you’re in a new city and don’t know anyone. Of course, it’s not a substitute for exploring in person, but it can add a nice layer to the experience. Sometimes I even met locals who suggested hidden spots I’d never find in a guidebook. I usually go on omegle (https://www.omegla.chat/) because it’s quick and easy to connect.

I tried it once in Spain and ended up getting restaurant recommendations from a guy in Barcelona. It actually made my trip more fun and personal, so I’d say it can be useful.

I think it’s distracting when I travel. I’d rather be outside exploring than sitting on my phone or laptop. For me, random chats are more for downtime at home.
