Vista 64 Ultimate with 2x8800GT cards in SLI mode.. Only occasionally during boot up am I faced with a split double screen, somewhat blurry. Cursor applies to both screens in tandem. Most times if I leave it ,it reverts back to normal screen. All graphics/Mobo drivers are up to date. Didnt happen tonight but wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this. Sometimes I have to revert back to original CDrom and repair. Strange one.

I have had this double effect a few times in XP, it always seem to occur when I've been on the Whiskey [rolleyes]

billy, you light weight :P
Tex, surprisingly SLi isn't very good at handling double screen, CrossFire wasn't either till recently, I imagine nVidia will catch up soon. Best I can suggest is to keep drivers updated, ask about on graphics card forums, it might even be worth updating your Graphics Card BIOS.

It's like updating a motherboard BIOS, it's not a risk-free process, I've never bothered updating mine, but I've never had problems with mine.

As Quantum is into mathmatics and quantity sometimes comes into his calculations,I have no doubt that he is quietly adding up the sum of your two images on my dual screens, adding a percentage for natural inflation and coming up with a fairly true prediction of your actual weight. >:D

Quantum, so far no more problems with double split screen on this PC. But hooked up the other one (2x6800 OC cards), updated everything possible and split screen appeared again. Will go through var software to try locate problem (vista 32 on this one). Its possible that since both PCs were partitioned saving old part, that there is something in there that is conflicting.
Using standard Acer 20 flat screen, can bring 22 inch down, but this shouldnt be the problem. thoughts?

If you got double vision Tex, try Specsavers ::)

;D BUMP for technical answer.

Erm, don't know exactly what you want me to answer. But I know partitioning will have nothing to do with it.

Right,now for plan "B"lol

Got the split screen again last night. After starting in safe mode with network, windows was able to put the problem down to nvidia driver for 8800GT. System restored to a few days earlier and back to normal. Funny thing is that windows update still offering update driver to card.?? The same driver was sucessfully downloaded many weeks ago. Maybe they will get it right for Vista 64 Ultimate shortly.
