Title: search function not working?
Post by: razorruck on November 22, 2008, 10:48:35 pm
bit of a strange one, i run it on win 98SE and there's never been any problems before. the other night my comp finally gave up and so i had to reinstall windows 98 and everything else. I've done it before and put bit che 1.60 on it and it's worked fine, however today i downloaded/ installed it and it doesnt seem to do anything. it even says i have no torrent client installed when in fact utorrent is on there already!

i noticed a similar thread before and i've tried the 'copy all the files from the app data folder into the bit che folder in program files' thing but to no avail.

any advice?  ???

muchos gracias :)

Hi,

Debug Tool:

1.  Please download the debug tool located here:  http://convivea.com/forums/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1230.0;attach=1043
2.  Run it, click the first 4 buttons, and then press the copy button.
3.  Open Notepad, and press "CNTRL-V" to paste the output to the notepad.
4.  Goto File, Save As, and save the output to a file on your desktop.

Send to me:

5.  Click Reply to this message, then click "Additional Options..."  (below and to the left of the text entry box)..
6.  Use the browse button to find and attach your debug output.txt from above
7.  In the message text entry box, please also let me know what AntiVirus and Firewall you have on your computer.

Thanks!

hiya..

currently no firewall/ anti virus installed, just whatever firefox version 1.0.7 uses. (i try and stick to old programs because of the low specs of the comp). never had a prob with bit che before, so a little confuzzled.

your missing a Win98 update that allows the API to play nicely.. i'm not sure exactly which one it is, but for starters, try this:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=73BA7BD7-ED06-4F0D-80A4-2A7EEAEE17E2&displaylang=en (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=73BA7BD7-ED06-4F0D-80A4-2A7EEAEE17E2&displaylang=en)

if that doesnt work, we can try forcing the portable version to work (your AppPath is clearly not being auto detected correctly)
