We all know that p2p is a great way to get your favorite movies, music, programs, shows, and many other forms of digital content.
However, the one area where it lacks is being able to watch something fully live. For most things, that doesn't matter so much. But for sports, it matters a lot. The following is a non-comprehensive list of sites that you can use to watch live sports and other live content through streams. We are not affiliated with these websites in any way. If you have more that you'd like to contribute, post here and I'll add it to the list.

this is just what i'm looking for, in fact I started a new topic, saw this then deleted it.
I want to see if I can watch UK footbal etc on my television from my PC. I am sick of paying Virgin Media every month for it. :-[

Easily done I sometimes watch streaming sports on my tv. Does your graphics card have something like a HDMI out port?
Sky Sports is so expensive it is a rip off on Sky and Virgin Media.

no Danny I only have onboard graphics. I can get a suitable graphics card, but my tv is about 20 feet from my PC. :(
-
That could be a problem :(
I'm not sure if there are video senders capable of doing what you want.

My video card is a couple years old and only has DVI output, but I got a handy DVI->HDMI cable so I can watch these on my TV. Quality is not that great usually but for the price it can't be beat :)
Thanks for the other links guys, they look really interesting. I got some pretty important games coming up this week in hockey and basketball and some good red sox too so this will be perfect.

I have had veetle .com for a long time now. Can usually catch live uk football, but depends which teams are popular and playing on the day. The pictures are usually excellent,no problem with hd monitor.
Have been watching nascar etc with good memories. There must be some way to switch to US football,or channel.
Basically you rely on who ever is streaming.
cheers

Yeah veetle is a great site, probably the highest quality from the choices.
In terms of availability, I'm very impressed with myp2p, they have everything I need :o
However when using streamtorrent, the stream is a bit more delayed than with other methods. It's at least a few minutes late maybe even a little more. For live sports that can be a tad disappointing.

LOL... yeah, ever tried watching games while talking to someone on the phone who has it in realtime?
phone: "uh oh... "
me: "what?? what?? no.. noo..what happened? what do you mean uh oh!!!!........................ [30 sec pause]...
me: "ohhh NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" [bangs head on table and curses internet TV]
-
Now is this live or is it after the games are over with?

Everything here is live, or at least relatively live. If you use the standard type streams in a browser they are usually only delayed by a couple seconds, up to a minute of delay.
If you use streamtorrent (it appears, from what I've used so far) that the delay is even longer than that.
If you watch sports on satellite tv or even HD TV over cable you will notice there are a few seconds of latency involved. The "most live" you can get is standard TV, IMO but obviously the HD is worth it for just a few seconds of delay the picture quality is far superior.

Good Info. Synbios. Now if the lockout prevails then what???

You mean like the blackout where they're not allowed to show games in certain regions? Most of these sites are immune to that since they are streamed by contributors all over the globe.
If the game is available somewhere on some channel, chances are you will be able to stream it.
