Which media player are you using? Have you installed them into a mp3 player?

I was referring to a portable mp3 player that you may have been jamming to mp3's.

these mp3 were not on any portable player but downloaded directly or recorded streaming live from the internet and then played on aimp2 and juke.

is there a free mp3 fix for the skipping problem?

I would not try to fix broken mp3's. If they are skipping or have distortion then your source of .mp3 is bad. There are very good sources of .mp3s elsewhere.

I couldn't agree more. I used emp3z. Worked great for me. I also recommend NCT.
