Hi,

just tested it quickly on my Linux system
since last time I've upgraded to Fedora 17 64b, with wine version 1.5.8 and the winhttp dll trick previously mentioned installed

i used the install package of BitChe

--- I still don't get the preview of the torrent i click on, but an other one instead which does not vary depending on the line result i click

--- I also found that i can order results by name size ratio source or date, but not by number of seeders or leechers, clicking on those columns does nothing

Regards

thanks for the feedback sheepdestroyer..  I figured that was one outstanding 'issue' to address.

im installing Ubuntu to my VM and test it.. i think there might be a problem with the Wine ItemLParam implementation for LVM_INSERTITEM, but not sure! :)

ok .. well I fixed that problem (strange API issue for Wine).   and the sort issue..  well, at least I had to make sure the Wine configuration was set to WinXP in order for the sorting to work.

looks like a few more things to address and then i'll try to include fixes for those in Build 20 :)

Chip,

I do not see how to PM on here.  I would like to get new builds and have used the PayPal button some time back.  You should have a record of my payment.

Please get me up to date.  Answer in the thread.  No PM's as I really don't see any easy PM me button here or under your name.

  Or a mail is fine.

Thanks.. thats for the old Bit Che 1.0 build 60 which used RLPacker for compression.. and hence, lots of antivirus products have incorrectly flagged it as a trojan -- because I guess some actual trojans have used the same compressor :( ... Anyway, in the new Bit Che 2.0 builds, I am not using that compressor anymore -- so no false flags with 2.0 builds! :)

This build is working great now, congratulation and many thanks!
The only thing remaining, but i had the same problem with version 1.60, is that when i click on "open torrent" from the details window of a result, transmission my bitorrent client doesn't catch it as it does when i open a torrent from say, Firefox or the file explorer.
I guess it's a wine specific problem/setting i should try to find but maybe it's working for you on Ubuntu?

Oh, and my build says "build 22" :p

Thanks again :)

A great pleasure to see Bit Che is alive and you working on it!!!!

A pleasure too to be a Beta tester  :D

Just tried a search of a recent sport event, and I could find it in bitsnoop but Bit Che it seems can't find it.

thanks Kepis!  I just tested and it looks like BC does find it, but because the result has '0' seeders, they are sent to the "Remove Results" list.  You can do 2 things..  Hit F7 to 'View the Removed Results' list   Or you can go to the 'Preferences' and 'Searches' and then uncheck 'Ignore results with 0 seeders'.  See in this screenshot?

Using Bit Che v2.0 Beta build 24, and uTorrent Portable v3.2.1 build 28086 from http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/utorrent_portable (http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/utorrent_portable), I get the following error when I open a torrent.

I do have torrents associated with uTorrent Portable.  v1.60 worked fine.

Hi Psychotica, thats strange. from 1.60 to 2.0, the method for opening a .torrent did not change. the standard "ShellExecute" Win32 API was used which simply tells Windows to "open" the file.  My guess is that one of your other versions of uTorrent messed up the Windows .torrent association (maybe when it auto-updated to a new version or something)?

First thing to do is simply save a .torrent to your Desktop and then double click it to launch open. Whatever opens then is the same thing that should happen when Bit Che launches the .torrent.

Also, I cant remember right now, but maybe 1.60 had a special .ini setting that let you overide the system default when using ShellExecute -- that was might have been used for 'Portable' edition. did you have 1.60 in portable mode?   I will have to research that more tomorrow.

Nope, Bit Che v1.60 was a regular installed version.  I had trouble with the portable version not always starting on a computer.  Some computers were fine, but some it refused to run as a portable app.

On the main issue for the post, it turns out that the newest version of uTorrent Portable, something got overwritten.  Associating the torrent files with uTorrent again fixed that popup issue.  Anywho, thanks for the quick reply.  Peace.

Feature request the ability to drag attached ini files from the board onto Bit Che to add the script.

people still don't get folders and the like see http://convivea.com/forums/index.php?topic=1800.msg19200#msg19200 (http://convivea.com/forums/index.php?topic=1800.msg19200#msg19200)

Sort of like this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emNogwGMJJM (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emNogwGMJJM)

Eat your heart out George Lucas not even he could do a video that would allow V1.6 script to be dropped into V2.0 Beta but you get the Idea. Some validation would be needed.

P.S.
OLE doesn't work in the IDE on Windows 7

dang, that will make it tough(er) for me to test, but I can load it up in a WinXP VM.

but, IMO, I think its better we focus on the GitHub scripts so that the community can push changes and the default pack will be synchronized automatically.

Right now, Bit Che 2.0 will delete scripts that are not in the 'default pack' when you 'update', so if users drag and drop new scripts, then the 'default pack' is updated, they will lose any changes.  Reason is, 99.9% of the people dont want to mess with the scripts, so I've made extra effort to keep things 'synced' for 2.0.  And then, developers can create a 2nd 'Developer' script pack where those scripts are kept in a tidy 2nd folder.

well, concept is that the 'default' script pack is a protected and fully synced.  i think that is best for the majority of the users.  that way we are not combing 'default' script pack with other scripts and then having some out dated, old, not synced, deleted.. etc.

for developers, and for testing.. put any scripts in a new script pack/directory.
a. create new directory in /scripts/<name>
b. create a new 'bcs.<name>.ini' file

you can copy /scripts/default over to /scripts/<name> and edit or test those. they remain untouched when updating 'default' script pack

then, you can toggle which 'script pack' you are using ('default' or '<name>' in the Bit Che GUI using the menu or the button under the Script List.

idea is that if you have fixed script, then it should get sent to the GitHub so that the /script/default/ is auto updated on any user who has that option selected.  note, you can turn off 'auto update default script pack' in the Preferences.

also, relevant, lets say the user wants another script pack..  such as 'anime'.  anyone can create and maintain a 'anime' script pack and the pack can have its own update check and can keep that fully in synced too.

open to suggestions on this :)

First of all, a big thanks for your GREAT work.

I wanted to inform you about two problems in the newer BitChe 2.0 Beta (maybe you already know):

1) A lot of times, activating a row of a searched torrent ("double click" or "right click + open torrent") causes BitChe to close to Desktop without any warning (tested on Win7 and Win8 [both with 64bit] on two different machines). Sometimes you need to start BitChe 3/4 times and try to open the desidered torrent before being able to add it to your torrent software (if can help, I'm using uTorrent 1.8.5, really old, but seems a lot faster than any version after 2.0). Since uTorrent isn't actived in any case, I don't think (but not sure) that the problem is connected with the torrent 'cacher' software. It never happens with previous version of BitChe (1.0)

2) Installing BitChe 1.0, after having installed BitChe 2.0, causes the tab columns to mess up (really small width): as you can view from the linked image (tested on WinXP, Win7 and Win8)

1.  I assume you are testing the latest 2.0 build 24?  I am curious if you tried any of the previous builds and if those builds had the same problem?  Lastly, have you made any modifications to Bit Che 2.0 or used a cracked version of 1.0?  And, while you're at it, maybe try turning off your anti-virus program (what is it?)?   I develop on Win7 64bit English and have not had those problems without it being related to modifications/cracks or anti-virus. But it could be something new. What language is your OS?

2. Sounds like a bug with 1.0 loading the 'settings.ini' which gets upgraded to 2.0 format when its ran. Unfortunately, 1.0 is no longer supported so I cant fix that "downgrade" issue with 1.0, but you can fix it by deleting 'settings.ini' and restarting Bit Che 1.0.  Otherwise, you can create another directory for 2.0 and copy 'settings.ini' to it, and run 2.0 and 1.0 sidebyside...  but keep in mind, there likely arent going to be 'official' script updates for 1.0 since my main efforts are getting 2.0 finalized and out the door :).

This is just way to complicated why do I need to create a bcs.<name>.ini file cant Bitche tell there is a new folder present.

Why am I limited to selecting either the Default script pack or the new one why can't I select both.

If I select my new script pack and want to go back to the default pack I get an error Feature Disabled in Freeware Edition(though not if I register Bit Che) shouldn't this just lock onto the default pack?
It also took me to an error 404 page http://www.convivea.com/bc_plus.php (http://www.convivea.com/bc_plus.php)

Perhaps scripts should have versions in them as some only work some versions of 2.0 beta.

1) I'm using the latest build (24), without any changes or cracks. My antivirus is actually Norton Antivirus 2013 (retail [not cracked] version), but I had the same problem with the 2012 retail version. I had the same problem even with previous builds of the new 2.0 BitChe. I'm using Italian O.S. I will experiment and let you know

2) It's not really a problem, since you could rearrange columns width: it is just a bit strange and weird

Thanks for the quick answer.

Perhaps scripts should have versions in them as some only work some versions of 2.0 beta.

a. bcs.name.ini file holds the Script Pack update URL and the CRC hash for the package, so each 'pack' can be synced. I can have Bit Che auto-create this file if a new /name containing scripts is detected, but point is, if someone wants to create their own 'script pack' and distribute a single .zip  then it would contain the bcs.name.ini and a /name folder  that holds the scripts. the single.zip file would be extracted to /script dir.

b. good idea to allow multiple packs to be selected. ill have to play with the design. i was trying to keep things simple with separate 'script packs'. but I can see that users might want only 1-2 additional scripts from another pack and also include them while searching with the 'default' pack.

c. i've decided to make 'script packs' standard feature so I will remove the plus/freeware check here.   and fix the 404 page.

d. there is currently a check and will ignore scripts that dont have 'version=2' in them.

thanks!

yes, all scripts < 2.0b25 will be updated and the script pack will be pushed. b-16-24 will be depreciated and will not update to the new script pack. no one is encouraged to use a beta other than the latest version available, so its not an issue. however, what I will do, is change the version=2 into a '2.0.25' and make it act like a minimum version, so we can prevent a 2.0.x build from loading an older 2.0.x script (which shouldn't happen by script pack design, but still)..  this is only for future betas. since right now, i have 2.0b25 backwards compatible with b16-24 scripts anyway. :)

bovski (all).. do you agree... we should initially include all scripts in all script packs (if there are more than 'default' script pack).. and then only exclude 'script packs' that the user has disabled?

All apart from adult & private would seem logical.

If all the private ones where turned on you would just get a flood of login requests.

Using 2.0 Build 25 I get these same results no matter what I search for (even 'windows'):
Bitsnoop = 0
bittorrent = !
be-etree = !
fulldls = 50 (Always 50. If there are not 50 actual results it will remove the rest, so if there are no actual results it removes 50)
h33t = 0
IsoHunt = 0
KickAssTorrents = !
PirateBay = !
Rutor = !
TorrentReactor = !
TorrentZap = !
I get the same results on an XP Pro x32 and Win 7 x64 system. I have also tried updating and not-updating scripts. Deleted, redownloaded, and 'reinstalled' several times using CCleaner to remove all references to Bit Che in the registry and rebooting (2x for win7) before 'reinstalling'.
I hope this helps and please let me know if you need any furthur info. I love this program!

Please give a simple link to the newest/latest bug free version here in this box.  I see a lot of talk about it but not a location.

My version 2.0 build 19 (a paid version for the donation etc) seems to update but refuses to scan any indexes any longer except the dead demonoid.

If this is a setting problem or something I can do , let me know.

But I should be using the latest build and cannot get a precise location amidst all the talk here.

A better solution:  Chip send a PM.

In any case I will watch for replies here for what to do next.

Thanks for quick response.  I found it in between replies here and used my password to make my Guevera update.

BitChe is "back on" now but I don't know how it began to fail-- like I had accidentally switched off the ability to do the scan of indexes.  There is much for me to learn about having effective scripts as well.    I see that the scripts contain the popular indexes such as KAT and TPB.  I also have ul'ed to Extra Torrents but have settled on using the cloud at TPB.

Is there a guide that has a more organized step by step procedure for BitChe setup and script mods?

I have been using BitChe for some time in both free then Gueverra edition and recommend it widely in the torrent community.  But it is likely I am not getting the full benefit of it's features.

Gathering the best torrent tools has been a challenge.  I'm currently using TBP cloud for upoloads,  Tixati as torrent client and BitChe as a search tool.

What happened was the script pack format has changed with the latest Release Candidate and everyone using an old beta needed to update.

Perhaps a forum topic could be made on BitChe "optimization" which could familiarize inexperienced programmers with BitChe features?

yep  ;D  the "betas" were not "public" releases and only meant for the Forum community.  once we have a solid bit che 2.0 release, the upgrade notice will be flagged and everyone will receive a prompt in Bit Che to update. Until then, everyone must check in with the Forums.   Main reason for this is because we need the feedback from users on the "beta".   Thanks

also, help docs and all of that will be coming.. but as I have very limited time, it might be awhile :)

ps, please let me know if you have time to help the project and can work on help docs, etc! :) :)

I don't know if thisis related but when asking for a torrent link to open in Bitche it sometimes (usually in the case of a magnet link) produces a bad ' meta data'  error in Tixati v 1.92.  What appears in the download group is a bad path including BitChe directory.  I can copy it out by hand if needed.

would be something different.. i'm able to reproduce the GUI glitch Exo pointed (filter text does not clear after launching a new search in a new tab)

can you PM me some results and links that fail to load?  i've quickly just tested with tixati 1.92 but i dont see any errors...

Also is there any thread or tutorial on personalizing scripts?

Chip,

here is a sample of the error text which I get only on certain torrent requests.  Some information ****'ed out for privacy.

A sample of a long torrent name appearing in Tixati from a BitChe request is:

[verbatim]

C:\DOCUME~\***~1.***\APPLIC~1\Convivea\Bit_Che\2\scripts\temp\temp_7494***.torrent

A path name in my system is being applied to the named torrent requested.  The ~ which indicate truncations are part of the "named" .torrent

Exoskeletor,  thanks, i see what you are talking about and can fix that. I also made it so that the filter will stay active for new searches until you clear it, but i'm not sure if i like it defaulting that way, or being cleared on every new search (and then needing to type in the filter again to apply)..

loninappleton,  can you take some screen shots? I'm confused now as to what is going on.  also, can you reproduce this everytime with certain 'results' ?  if so, please PM me how to reproduce that. for example, tell me the site searched and the result clicked.

Using 2.0 Build 35 and have updated scripts.

I'm seeing a time out with any torrent I try to open from BitSnoop.com
In the torrent details window I see the following in the status bar:

Code: [Select]
Connecting to BitSnoop.com
Connecting to zoink.it
Error occured with: http://zoink.it/torrent/<<torrent data removed for this post>>

Is there an issue with the Bitsnoop.com script?

Is there an issue with the Bitsnoop.com script?

the script itself is fine... but we were forcing the use of the zoink mirror as it was more reliable in the past. right now, zoink appears to be down so the script has been modified to just use the default source/mirror.

Found a possible bug.

When using $seeds=array(@q,4) on a site, if there are no seeds the array has: -&nbsp;-&nbsp;-  (which appears as --- on the results page)

The debugger properly shows that 0 seeds are found, but the main Bit Che results window returns the number found on the previous loop.
The same happens for 0 leeches.

For now it's easy enough to do a replace of -&nbsp;-&nbsp;- with 0 in the script, but it should probably be fixed.

Also, is Bit Che+ suppose to be able to handle .torrent links that redirect?  Having an issue with that as well.

The link is properly found by BC, but clicking download gives an error.  Copying the URL to the clipboard and pasting in the browser will download the .torrent file.  Not sure if that's a bug, or what the proper handling should be in the script.

I found both these issues on my AsianDVDClub script.

thanks CuF... &nbsp;I was able to fix the 0 seeds/leech issue without using your posted script. &nbsp;

i would like to take a look at the redirect issue you are having too but I will need some more info.   I did some google searching and found what the download URL is typically.. and unfortunately, that wasnt any help since it just redirects to the login page...

SO... I'll need access to the site in order to test with Bit Che to see if there is a redirect bug or not.    we can do 2 things.. one, you can email an invite to me and i'll setup an account to test with.. or two, you can change your pw to something temporary and PM me so I can login and test.. (then you can change your pw back). either way, I actually have to debug the actual http connection... if you dont want to do either of those options... last resort would be to send me a HTTP log while you are using BC to try and download a .torrent... you can create an HTTP log using something like:  http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/http_network_sniffer.html (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/http_network_sniffer.html)

EDIT: updated :)

CuF:  new idea... lets try using Bit Che to tell me the Headers response (what I think I need mostly) when you request the .torrent:

1.  attached is a slightly modified version of your script. put it in your Bit Che script directory.
2.  do a search in Bit Che with the script so you have some results
3.  open the Script Debugger
4.  then double click one of your results (which then triggers the 2nd code section)
5.  in the Script Debugger, hit the 'Headers' button
6.  copy and paste everything in your debugger to me.. either post it here, PM me, or email me.

hopefully that gives me enough insight into the problem :)

Does the malformed seeder fix also effect malformed leeches?  It occurred for both.

aye! not fun... but no worries. that would be great to test the new version because the param handling/cookie bug could have affected more than it seemed. i'm wondering if that was the source of many problems with sites that relied on cookies (all login sites)... but if there is still a redirect bug, i need to squash it.   i have an entire function that "validates" the URL redirection, so its perfectly possible I've got a bug there too!

also, yes, the fix applied for both seeds and leeches (forces the value to be numeric)

thanks!

Bug in Build 36:

Under some conditions if you use t=array(@q,1) and that array is blank, the variable is deleted and doesn't appear the next time =array(@q,n) is used.
This is causing the next loop's results to be removed.

For example:
Using my BakaBT script (attached) that works with Build 35 but not 36 and searching "Ghost Shell Innocence", there should be 4 results.

Loop 1: Finds 1080p version
Loop 2: Finds only the text "Alternate Versions:" and loops
Loop 3: t=array(@q,0) is checked but empty (removing the variable 't' in the debugger window), t=array(@q,1) does not get the data from @q(1)

This works properly in Build 35.

Found in Build 35 and 36:
If you click in Bit Che's results area, it will occasionally anchor a select region box.  Can't be more specific, sorry.

thanks.. actually I think I was able to fix that bug with that info :) I had not tested with Chrome on Win8.. but seems I was sending an extra flag in the shellexec param which was the only time I've seen it double launch. anyway, I need to keep testing to make sure this fix doesnt break anything else.

not sure about not being able to search anything..  I cant reproduce that..  what antivirus are you using?  do you have scripts in your script list and are they enabled?

hi loninappleton..  bit che is an framework/script language to fetch and display the 'search results' from a 'search engine'.. so someone would need to create a search engine for Mega before a script to display the search results could be possible.

not sure about not being able to search anything..  I cant reproduce that..  what antivirus are you using?  do you have scripts in your script list and are they enabled?

version 37 also doesnt search. i have try to run bit che as administrator with windows defender disabled (i dont have another antivirus) but didnt help. i dont have private scripts enabled. even if i have only 1 script from the list selected doesnt search. (The connections tag doesnt even appear, the search doesnt even start).

Links now like forums open only 1 link, but upgrading scripts doesnt work  (didn't work on version 36 either but was working on 35 and on 35 i was able to search)

Seems basic, but do you have a firewall that might be blocking Bit Che?

yeah, sounds like something is blocking Bit Che.. nothing changed in the last few builds and i dont even have to run it as administrator on my win 8 test box..

i would start with playing around with the windows 8 firewall.. shut it off completely to test, or manually allow the application:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-firewall-from-start-to-finish#section_4 (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/windows-firewall-from-start-to-finish#section_4)

Did you guys disable filters in Bit Che?

I used to have the old version and there when you'd search for something, you could filter the results by size, seeders, etc..

example: torrent -size>500mb -seeders>50

This does not seem to be working the latest version.

Registered Bit Che

dev test only!
43. minor script debugger display error fix
44. prelogin now able to execute script section and manipulate $form and $loginurl prior to 'login' -- thanks CuF

note to CuF & devs:   attached is a script for 'hdbits.org' that shows the new required changes for a script to use a prelogin code execute (must be prelogin=code(`URL`,0) ) and that code section must be [code0].  the result extraction code should be ignored since I cant test that part.. actually, I dont know if this will login.  CuF can you test? :) :) :)

Really slick.  Mostly works, but there is one bug.  The first time through Code0 is executed and BC properly logs on.
After logging on it then re-executes Code0 and stops (instead of moving on to Code1).

Subsequent searches take advantage of the cookie grabbed the first time through and works perfectly.

-fixed: Hash incorrectly calculated for some .torrents and magnet links (base32 conversion)
-fixed: scrape functionality for some trackers
-fixed from Build 44: prelogin now able to execute code0 script section and manipulate $form and $loginurl prior to 'login' -- thanks CuF
-new: $seeds and $leeches are pushed to the 'Torrent Details' windows and both can be changed in code2 sections -- thanks CuF
-new: script function improvement: array(@q,#1,#2) where #2 is added to #1.. both #1 and #2 can be variables as expected. -- thanks Bovski

Wait, I'm responsible for what with the code2?  :)
Is this the ability to use code2 for results other than the .torrent?  I thought that was unimportant because of the scrape button.

For fun I added the seeds and leeches for Take.fm to the code2.  Works great.

Any chance for a tweak so if you view the torrent details, and either through scrape or code2 has a different seeds/leeches, that those new numbers will be updated to appear in the full results window?

Or isn't the results list update-able like that?
Heck, it might be nice for a context option on the full results page to include scrape.

weird.   you guys with problems searching on .45, can you help with these:

1.  can you send me a screen shot with your 'Script List' open (Hit F2)?  and is 'Default' checked under 'Script Packs' menu?

2.  can you send me a screen shot of what happens when you try to update scripts?

3.  are you using Windows that is non-english version? If so, what language?

4.  what anti-virus and firewall are you using?

5.  when you go to File | Open App Data, can you tell me the path it opens?

Greetings and thanks for the recent upgrade from a plus member.

This seems to be the only really active thread and I have request.  I don't see Extra Torrents on the scripts or BtScene  These seem to be indexed more effectively.

These may be only "me too sites"  I have no idea.

I am not interested in Chrome so whatever Mr. Dotcom is up to will have to pass me by.

cheers

What's going on with downloads your latest versions of programs, portable version as install version,  simply do not download. I tried to download each about 20 times, but to no avail.

I use Windows XP and Firefox 18.0.2

EDIT:

I managed to install version download, portable version after about 120 attempts only managed to download.

Thanks for the answer Chip!

I hope you'll consider adding the seeder filter.

Also a more range support for file sizes would be nice, or a custom range.

absolutely... i was hoping to get some feedback on those file size filters..   if you dont mind, would you let me know how you would organize all of the options? add/delete or change whats there?   I'm not positive I can (easily) do custom size but I certainly can tweak whats there now.

and i'll look into a seeds filter :)

I've been running Version 2.0 Build 48 for a while now, and if I leave it open for several hours or more it tends to lock up and need to be restarted.

It also seems to have some memory leak issues. After leaving it open over night it was using 1.2 GB of Memory, and 49% of the CPU resources.

See attached image file.

Works great, found a couple possible new bugs.

Search results from a site include the | character.
Need to remove an instance of it, but t=replace(t,`|`,``) fails to find the character.  Also tried `|` with no luck.  (I copy pasted the symbol to make sure it wasn't something weird.)

Second, .torrent results from site include many instances of ampersands in the form of &amp;.
View Torrent Details, utorrent and copy/pasting in browser fails to work with the results.
Added
Code: [Select]
$torrent=replace(r,`&amp;`,`&`) in script to make it work, but I'm not sure why it doesn't translate properly.

Glad I'm on notifications again.

Comodo didn't want to let this one in.  For Comodo users:  when the red block window comes up select advanced and have BitChe treated as a loader/installer.  That option is showing in the Comodo program box.

opps, sorry!

chkAutoScriptUpdate should be be deleted... it was a typo mistake when i was updating the language files

the one to keep and translate is:
chkAutoUpdateScripts=Automatically update default script pack

(yes, remove the "!" from chkAutoUpdateScripts and then keep that one)
