Title: lapping your CPU lower temps.
Post by: texasboy on March 05, 2007, 06:05:06 am
I must admit this is the first time I have read about polishing your CPU with sandpaper to get lower temperatures.
While it doesn't apply to all makes, it makes you want to resurrect an older model and give it a try  ;D

Now where`s my toolbox ::)

Very interesting, I didn't believe it at first but after I saw those pictures and numbers, it might be true.

I don't like overclocking my components (I want the longest life). but doing that and not overclocking might still be a good idea. That might increase the life of your CPU.

Hmm, that looks quite cool but I don't like the risks. Mind you I do over clock these days, modern components last longer than their useful life cycle even over clocked if they are stable, I don't really plan to keep components even 5 years lol.
