Title: Is there a way to fix the lag when editing 4K footage in iMovie (2011 iMac)???
Post by: HarryJames on December 10, 2019, 12:13:39 pm
This is probably a really basic question, but I shot a bunch of footage at 4K 60fps, and as soon as I imported it into my 2011 iMac I noticed playback was very choppy and laggy. This was simply trying to watch it in QuickTime.whatsapp web (https://openweb.vip/whatsapp-web/) 192.168.0.1 (https://19216801.onl/) routerlogin (https://routerlogin.uno/)

Is there a solution?

I’ve seen compression as an option, and editing with proxy files, but I’m pretty sure iMovie doesn’t support proxy files.

You can also choose resolutions lower than 1080p, while still preserving the 60 fps frame rate.
