My attitude towards dating sites is totally positive. Every person has its own purpose while browsing a dating site. One can search for a quick hookup, another for friends with benefits, another one for just chatting online. I also think, that one can even find their true love there. I wouldn't believe it if my friend didn't meet his wife there. So everything depends on what are you looking for.

Take your time. It's always hard to lose someone close. I would also suggest you try online dating. I think it's an easier start towards relationships. One of the great disadvantages of hurry is that it takes such a long time. So my advice is - take your time and enjoy your life.
