Scripts & Development / Search results - I'm confused!
« on: November 03, 2012, 02:05:28 pm »
Greetings.

A while back I was using using Bitche 1.0,build 60 when something made me suspicious about missing search results.
I did some manual searches (at popular torrent search websites) for a while and found more useful results than in Bitche.
Then I trialled Bitche 2.0 (build 24) and found many more useful search results, so stuck with it until today.

Today in Bitche 2.0,build 24 I updated the scripts, then see the whole search results changed and almost a complete lack of search results!

Reverting back to Bitche 1.0,60, I see the same as my original problem.

eg. manual search on website:
Site = KickAssTorrents.com (kat.ph)
Search = "the family game 1983"
Result = 1 "the family game 1983 dvdrip divx yoshimitsu morita", seeds=1

Bitche 1.0/60 search result (with KickAssTorrents.com ticked) = 0!
Bitche 2.0/24 used to show the same 1 result as a manual search.

Can someone advise me if I'm doing something wrong, or have any files messed up with Bitche 1.0?

Thanks.

Bugs & Feature Requests / Scripts Update.
« on: June 20, 2010, 05:03:42 pm »
1.
What is the best way to perform a scripts update?

ie.
About > Check for updates
or
About > Update scripts (this appears to always download scripts, regardless if up-to-date or not)

2.
After scripts have been downloaded, does the 'Build search profiles...' operation commence automatically, or is a restart of BitChe required?

What operating system are you using? Are you running under an administrative account?

Windows XP Home, service pack 3, as Administrator.

STRANGE THING...  O0
I have not used BitChe since I submitted this help request.

Just now I fired it up, checked for updates which informed updated scripts are available, which I opted to download.
Restarted BitChe (to build search profiles).

Performed:
- A search for "stevie wonder" which returned a sorted list from various sources.
- View torrent details - worked Ok
- Open torrent - worked Ok

All operations appear to be working now as intended  :o  :o  :o

Put this topic on hold while I will monitor things for a while and report any more trouble.

Thanks.
M.

I often encounter RAR archives with passwords both in the bittorrent world and off download servers like rapidshare etc.
They are legitimate good quality archives from reputable seeders.

In the case of sourcing from a download server the password is usually in the description text from where you get rar-file links from.
For bittorrent - right-click on the bit-Che search result entry and surf to the source page. There you should see the description text and often feedback comments as well. Look for the password there!
ThePirateBay is usually very good for these.

Viruses are 99% of the time contained in software install.exe or setup.exe files, where the suspect made a 'wrapper' around the original .exe file which unpacks and executes the virus before unpacking the original.
Any good antivirus shoud detect this and give a warning either when the .exe file is 'un-rar'ed' and/or when you run it.

My Bit Che (free version) has gone berzerk... nothing works anymore  :'(

These following operations fail:

1. Update scripts:
- firewall (Comodo) alerts update.exe... which I allow to access network

"Updating Bit Che Scripts"
- Requesting scripts
- "Error! - Error downloading scripts... Connection is aborted due to timeout or other failure"

2. All search results show only the one source = SuperNova

3. View torrent details:
 - "Error occured with: torrage.com"

4. Open torrent:
- "Error! - Error downloading torrent... Connection is aborted due to timeout or other failure"

5. Check for updates:
- continual network activity (send+receive).... with no result!

6. Open source page:
= Ok - web browser goes to superNova.org

* Have uninstalled / re-installed with default settings, scripts etc.
* The same as above with both firewall (Comodo) & Antivirus (NOD32) disabled!

Any adivce please... ?  ???

Mike.

Bugs & Feature Requests / Re: Unable to load ".....": Invalid torrent file!
« on: November 16, 2008, 07:32:24 pm »
I forgot to add my suspicion that sumotorrent might have changed it's layout and therefore needed a change/update in the query script.

I can't remember having problems with Bit Che <> sumotorrent before, but it might be coincidence that I haven't chosen to download from it.

Because it's been only recent, that's why I suspect sumotorrent has changed something in it's web-page layout or query engine.

If required I can provide the good & not-good versions of the .torrent file for your comparison analysis.

Re: Torrent source page = www.sumotorrent.com

I've been getting this error from my torrent client (uTorrent) sometimes.
Unable to load "temp_#####": Invalid torrent file!

In Bit Che:
Can view torrent details Ok.
Can open source page Ok.
Can open the source page, download and open the torrent Ok.

It appears to be getting corrupted by Bit Che.

Any advice?

Bugs & Feature Requests / Scripts Files.
« on: August 28, 2008, 06:59:52 pm »
Some questions about scrip files (not scripting itself) in:
C:\Documents and Settings\1_ADMIN\Application Data\Convivea\Bit_Che\scripts

I'm new to Bit che, using the free version and notice many files in the above folder location.

1.
Curious to know the purpose of:
special.exe
update.exe
x.exe <- this one especially because my firewall has been blocking incoming UDP packets from multiple sources to this application.

2.
The ...\temp folder looks to contain temporary torrent files.
Can these be manually deleted or flushed from within Bit che
