Error downloading scripts
« on: March 29, 2008, 12:11:32 am »
I get this error - Error downloading scripts... Valid name, no data record of requested type. I had this problem with the older version as well as the latest. Uninstalled and reinstalled with the same result. Thanks for any help!

Edit - I get the same error when trying to download a torrent within bit che. I have to open the webpage and download it from there.

I got the same script error message when I downloaded the new version. I typed in a couple of queries and the window kept coming up blank with 'done' showing in the bottom left corner. I typed in 'the beatles' knowing that I should get hundreds of hits and still the window was blank with no results. Is this an issue with the firewalls? I am running Zone Alarm and also the Windows firewall. I decided to just use my system recovery option and recoverd the original version. I am very excited about getting and using the new version but I think there are a lot of us out there that might need a little guidance.

Thanks!!!

Neither version will work for me. The old one worked at one time but it stopped updating. I can search for and get results for anything, I just cant update scripts or download the torrrent from within bit che. I have tried with all my security stuff disabled and no luck there either.

Disabling Zone Alarm did the trick. Bit Che works fine after you download it and restart the Zone Alarm. Thanks for the help.

for those of you who receive the error, "Valid name, no data record of requested type" when updating scripts/downloading a torrent, what version of Windows are you using?
