Lie To Me

(1/3) > >>

TheNightWatchman:

I'm always interested in analysing people and the way they do things, my friends say if I wasn't making films/videos I should be a psychiatrist (note: I would hate this), and so when I heard about this show I was really interested.

Having seen the Mentalist afterwards, I can say it is NOT like this at all, it is focused on the analysing, not the, hey this guy can read your mind, look at the weird stuff he does, things. The Mentalist is interesting, but doesn't captivate me, but I really like Lie to Me. It's still a bit obvious, the expressions I mean, because of course they are acting that expression rather than genuinely being surprised, etc, but is getting better with each episode, so hopefully they should leave the analysing up to you and reveal at the end soon. It's getting near to that now anyway.

Anyone else seen it? I think it's on Fox in America, and getting decent ratings, some say this is because it's being played after American Idol, others say it's because it's on the same time as Lost (I personally really like Lost and watch both shows). Either way, it doesn't look like it's going to be one of those 'decent shows that get cancelled early'. It's basically being promoted as Fox's answer to House MD.

chip!:
hey, tnw, thanks for this update..   i am a fan of LOST and I havent caught an episode of Lie to Me yet, but I have been wondering about the show because i've seen a couple previews for it. you like it? i might start tivo'ing it then..

are each episode a new 'episode' or are they linked?

if they are linked, could you fill me in with a little quick synopsis of whats happened so far?

thanks!

TheNightWatchman:
I really like Lie to Me, it is progressing well this season, not sure how long it can go before they have to start changing the format a bit, but they have had some interesting insights into the characters' personal lives too.

The episodes are not 'linked'. It is like a crime show with a new case each week, yes the characters have small backstories that devlop each week but you could start watching now and not have a problem.

I would highly suggest that you watch the first episode though (i can PM a link if you like - or I'm sure you could BitChe it!) because it explains the purpose of all the characters and what role they have in the team. It also shows the analysing at a basic level so you have an understanding of what to look for in later episodes.

I mean you could get into this after seeing a few eps I would just think it would make things easier :)
