;D Since we dont have many PC posts on components. I thought I would add another update to this thread. Rather than go for one of those monster full tower cases I have found a very spacious easy to use case. a mid tower, Coolermaster haf 922, many nice features,including a cut out on the mobo tray behind the processor to give room for changing back plates on heatsinks. Will have fun playing with with fan layouts.
http://www.hitechlegion.com/reviews/cases/867-coolermaster-haf-922-case There are many reviews on this case and are positive. Its also much cheaper than big brother haf 932 and I can pick one up from £80-100 locally.
Have a look at link and let me know.tks
cheers

 ;D Of course its COOL Billy.lol.
The last one was sold ,so I ended up with the coolermaster haf 932 for less than £100. Not much time due to work, but I`m starting to put it together.
Anything to keep an old man happy. >:D And fuzzy I moved the hamsters  to their proper cage, cant have any droppings in the new case.

 ;D Finally got it together. Up and running. The coolermaster 932 with its big quiet fans  are excellent, I am on it at the moment and very very quiet. Mobo temp 29 deg, CPU temp 39 deg after  30 min of being online. Running 3.5 GHz  (stock 2.67GHz).
It`s to late tonight to do much more. Will give you more info as I move along. And dont worry fuzzy, its so cool inside this big case the hamster is enjoying  itself. >:D
cheers

 ;D Another little update on the i7 processor and DX58SO mobo.
When trying to install the very large Mugen 2 heatsink to the back plate I found I was short on one screw to fasten. So instead I used the Nexus Low 7000 heatsink to the same plate. This is a low profile unit, only 7cm high with lots of copper + fan (brilliant). OC to 3.675 MHz says Everest 3.83MHz says Intel. Temps at idle, Mobo 33 deg C CPU 36 deg C. The big fans in the Coolermaster HAF 932 case with a 140 exhaust fan do a great job. Under load the temps are mobo 35deg and CPU 48-50 deg. Run Prime 95 for 4 hrs and passed on all tests.
Ran test on 3D Mark Vantage and results.
12,538 marks
GPU 10,130
CPU 43,728 (yes)This is using my 2x8800GT cards in SLI. 600/900 OC to 646/ 926. instead of the single ATI 4870 512Mb  Running very stable, and I`m wondering what 2x 4870 cards will do?

PS still looking for a screw for Mugens, >:D
cheers

;D you will not believe how hard it is to get the screw that I need. Tried a few electrical and PC stores with no luck. Might have to e-mail Mugen for some help. Do you think there might be age discrimation involved???
Still running  at 3.65GHz and all temps under 51 deg. If I can find the extra missing screw ,will be able to try out the better Mugen 2 heatsink and bring temps down.
cheers

 ;D Good news, I`ve found the screw I was after. 50 of them at Maplin for £2.99.
So I will once again remove mobo and install Mugen 2 heatsink.
The present heatsink Nexus 7000 low profile is  excellent and for those of you with any interest, the following are present temps while running 3.65MHz on i7 920 cpu (stock 2.67MHz}
Mobo 35deg C
CPU 39 deg C
4Xcores 40-44 deg C
GPU Ambient 38 deg C  (2x8800GT cards in SLI slightly overclocked}
HD  30 DEG c.
All in Coolermaster haf 932 case

So, will make the changeover after supper and do some tests.
cheers

 ;D Lots of good news tonight. Just bought my second Sapphire ATI HD4870 on  Ebay tonight for £58,13. The seller is only 1/2 hr away and I can collect in person. Now I can try crossfire instead of SLI (nvidia).  At present running 1x 4870 @3.35MHz with a little extra 80mm fan on Mugen 2 heatsink. All temps are below 39deg,Mobo 29deg/CPU34deg and all cores 37-39 deg after 1 hour, Used Antec formula 5 silver paste which seems to have bedded in and temps are excellent even while stressing using prime 5 for 2 hours, and using latest Everest and" real temp" to check. Presently waiting for a new slimline 120mm fan(only 12mm thick) to take over from the little 80mm fan which has only 2 wires and runs 100% at all times.
Having fun .
cheers

keep up the good work Tex....lol
