yeah sounds like it should be able to be fixed..  when you go to 'Open App Data Folder' from the File menu of Bit Che, what directory opens for you?

When i select 'Open App Data Folder', nothing happens. There aren't too much functions working: the language choosing form appears but it can't take effect, the options set are only remembered while running, it can't remember for registrating, and it can't even search for torrents Sad
if there isn't a trivial solution, can i have the 59th build back?

i tried the portable version also. installed on a XP (it worked), and i tried on my ME, where it couldn't read the ini file and couldn't write either. Can it be fixed? Roll Eyes

hi.. im sure it can be fixed. but if the portable version failed in Win ME, then i'm probably going to have to setup a Virtual Machine for Win ME and see what is failing.

for the time being, I will create a mini-debug .exe that you can run on your Win ME machine that might be able to detect the problem. i'll post this for you in the next hour.

contle, when you get a chance, please run the attached file and then Copy the output, and paste it here as a reply or send me a PM (if you want).

thanks Smiley

well.. with no reply from contle, i went ahead and got a WinME setup to run the debug tool myself and found the problem.  Smiley

and so i dont forget, Write/Read Unicode INI API does not work on WinME, so I will have to revert to standard ANSI functions for WinMe or earlier systems.

I lost the Internet connection for couple of minutes and got the attached warning message box Smiley

Has these been reported before?

I'm having a problem with updating the scripts.  When I start BitChe I'm given a prompt to update the scripts, however all I get is -

.  I have looked through some of the posts but can't find the topic.

Thanks

Steve
