Windows Live Messenger
« on: June 28, 2006, 02:43:27 pm »
If you didn't know, a new version of MSN Messenger has been released to the public (8.0) and renamed Windows Live Messenger.
Download the latest version:
http://get.live.com/messenger/overview - click 'Get it free'

(Useful websites:
http://www.mess.be/ - for Mess Patch (if you don't have this, GET IT!) and anything good for messenger
http://www.msgpluslive.net/ - for Msg Plus! extention)

If you have already got it (or beta tested it since December - I actually got an official invite from Microsoft this time!) what do you think of it?

Dont you have to be 18 to be an official tester? :o
I was using the beta for ages, now using the final. Its taken a while to get used to but i thinks its better than 7.5 was now. Hopefully it will look even better in Vista, adn that yahoo supports comes quickly.

Yeah, think you a re supposed to be 18 to be an official tester.

I've been testing Microsoft BETA products for some time now, was on the first wave of WLM and have been on the first wave of Vista and Office BETA. Just got Windows Vista Beta 2 working last night, pretty good, much smoother than previous incarnations of the program but the security system, while toned down, still drives me nuts and I ended up turning it off.

Carter: "So what's wrong with it?"
Daniel: "It's macaroni and cheese."

lol how young do you think I am dinner?

Anyway I didn't really want to test out Office or Vista because I rely on Windows/Office too much, and if it doesn't work I'm screwed (plus I only have 1 PC)
