Grin As instigated by Gibbler and Cissie (Shoutbox) this topic will try to reveal the views of both male and female workers.
It is not a question of who can score more "brownie points" for number of hours worked but how partners work together, trying to make home life more enjoyable and profitable. Many members  MinLo and myself will show that family life is all about putting in the hours (usually 70) in my case and still coming home to paint/repair things in the home. Being a taxi driver, entertainer on weekends, with little or no time for ourselves. Most ,we enjoy and go along with, although most of us would like a little more time to persue personal habits/hobbies.
Do you feel you are working too much. Is life a bitch!?
Start spilling the beans.
cheers

Grin PS, ask a woman to hang a front door or change a valve on a radiator?

I will just say that there are not enough hours in a day.. or days in a week. Tongue.. oh and all of Chris' s*it that I have to pick up after.. Undecided

Smiley Exactly Gibbler, There seems to be never enough hours in the day. 2 cats-ditto,feed/water,change the kitty litter. Who empties the various bins, water the plants. I do my own laundry but usually have to empy machine of others. Because we all work various hours, cooking is an individual effort except for perhaps a sunday dinner together.
Struggle on seems like a good motto.
cheers

I work my job 5 days a week, and am gone from 8 am in the morning till 6.15 at night.  I work hard being a manager in a store, and lots of heavy lifting involved, plus achieving budgets, doing all the bookwork etc. etc.  I get up at 6 am in the morning, and tidy before i leave, doing either a load of washing or some ironing etc.  i come home from work, wind down for about 20 mins, before cooking dinner, then doing the cleaning up in the kitchen.  Me time is spent a couple of hours at PC as partner works in the office, so its really the only time i get with him through the week, plus calling my kids etc.

Weekend are spent, gardening, as i have 62 palm trees which always need pruning, and weeding.. i also help in the renovating of the house, nail up boards, laminate the kitchen, and also try to fix my own car, like changing the new battery, fixing the door etc.  I have helped to build a house, and i mean to the point of digging the trenches, doing the footings, tiling, grouting, bricklaying etc etc.  I cook almost everything from scratch but sometimes when all is too much, we will get some takeaway.  I made a rod for my own back many years ago, when the family told me after going to a restaurant, that my cooking was better, so they didn't wish to eat out.

I catch up with washing, ironing and other housework at the weekend.  I have had enough and am going to the university on Monday to check out my all time dream of becoming a nurse.  At 52 some of you may laugh, but i hate my job and have been doing it for 6 years, i now wish to do what i have always dreamed of doing from age 3.  I was booked in to do my training when i left school, however my boyfriend put a ring on my finger and told me to apply for a secretarial job at a local newspaper, and i got it, hence never doing what I wanted to do.  Enough is enough, it is now time for me to do what i want to do.  My partner supports me in my choice, fingers crossed i can now achieve my ultimate dream job. I enjoy a beach walk when i get the chance or just a walk through the bush land, or simply playing my piano or guitar.

I am a damn hard worker and always have been, and get cheesed off with females who do nothing but sit on their butts and watch the telly all day long, however, it is them that have the bad life.. mine is and has always been full. This hopefully will lead to longevity, and when i finally get to the end of my life, i hope my body is totally busted, burnt out, and slides through the pearly gates saying "what a hell of a ride"
