Can Bit-Che open a torrent client on a separate machine.
« on: August 02, 2017, 06:18:28 am »
I'm using a Win 7 PC to run Bit-Che.  It currently opens UTorrent in the same Win 7 PC.  When I select a file to download, it saves the file to a mapped drive on a Freenas server.  However, instead of opening UTorrent on the same Win 7 PC, is there a way for Bit-che on that Win 7 PC, to open a torrent client like Transmission on a Freenas machine?  Freenas has a Transmission plugin.  I use the Win 7 PC as my media player, so using it as a download engine takes up CPU.

If you use Transmission Remote GUI it can open that. If freeNAS has an APi for interacting with the torrent client, you might be able to write a script for it as well. Look  in the external scripts folder for examples.

just set it to save to a watched directory on the target machine, generally there should be an option for that client to add any torrent files added to that directory.
