Virgin don't go into the home they have coaxial into the home. But to the end of the street isn't a good solution as it will soon need replacing 100Mb to the home will be to slow within 10 years.

I Must admit I'm not looking forwards to optical into the home as it will be near on impossible to hack if implemented correctly.

Well they did a report and costing of what it'll eventually take to get most homes in the country at 1 Gbps so it's all under consideration.
Daniel: "This tastes like chicken."
Carter: "So what's wrong with it?"
Daniel: "It's macaroni and cheese."

I'm using my cell phone as a modem so pretty slow compared to others posting......

But I only pay $30/month for a plan that would normally cost $80+.......1000 mins peak, Free Internet/TeXT/PIC MESS/mobile2Mobile/Pick 3 numbers to unlimited call/Free phone as modem/NW start at 5pm.....
My phone isn't on the fastest internet band for phones(rev0) but if I did get a rev A phone, I might see 2.5mbs......

I'm trying to justify getting comcast 12mb for 6 months @19.99/ month but I just don't think it would matter much since all I do now is surf the web :(

Sounds good MinLo, Most of us dont need the high speeds for daily business, but it helps when downloading large files that Billy sends to me(mostly plans of how a refriigerator works?).

;D One thing fuzzy if it helps . Whenever you click on speedtest.net. be sure to refresh the page before you run the test. It can give you extra  speed. Usual things such as defrag/crap cleaner and setting higher figures in start set-up also help. Limit start up programs or anything that is running and drawing resources. Try clicking on the recommended yellow triangle on the test.
cheers

Alright well I better get in on this too right?

I am only 8mb at the moment, but just switched over to 20mb today. Will have it by the end of next week, so will be a good comparison.

Currently:

and just for fun

and I get better speeds connecting to my old house apparently

Hey Tex,

I'm not quite sure what to expect ....  Comcast said around December 12th connection speeds will go up from 12,000 to about 50,000 kb/s with higher upload speeds, it does work better now  >:D
