OLD Bit Che 3.0 - Latest Version -- Build 8 (April 27, 2014)
« on: April 17, 2013, 04:48:49 pm »
jump to the last post for the latest version (Bit Che 3.0 build 8)):
http://convivea.com/forums/index.php/topic,2415.msg21318.html#msg21318

the following is kept for information purposes:

Bit Che 2.0 Build 62 (April 17, 2013)

-new: added a new script header flag "initialize=1" which will trigger the code section labeled [initialize] to be processed before beginning the search.
-new: this allows the ability to modify any of the search variables, including new @search, @profile and also use the read-only @descriptions (1 if turned on and 0 if turned off).
-fixed: the redirect '//' bug for toggling same HTTP or HTTPS protocol as the referrer
-fixed: 'Locate' button in the script debugger for 'find() and extract()'
-fixed: properly urlencode the @search (uses Win32 API.. so for example " " is converted to "%20" instead of "+"... also takes care of all the other characters)
-improved: some language translation widths and heights based on feedback from gojko and Exoskeletor (thanks guys!)

here is the latest beta build 68. and the changes log below.

sorry.. no installer right now. put the bit_che.exe in your usual place and extract 'external' folder to your bit che %appdir% if you want to open torrents in external programs.  i have provided a few demo config files for you to test with (if you want).

Changes since build 62:

new: allows launching torrents/magnets in external applications (Trans. Remote GUI, etc)  - thanks skywalka & regi100
new: export results list to .CSV file  - thanks rgrun1
new: script engine function 'resubmit' to allow url resubmitting/redirection/forwarding
new: now supports http redirection to a magnet link while fetching url
improved: 'Save Torrent', 'Open Torrent', and 'Open Torrent With' actions from results list now support multi code sections to fetch torrent/magnet (as 'View Torrent' dialog does)
improved: does not fetch torrent again if already loaded for 'View Torrent' dialog (duh! reduces bandwidth and speeds up torrent launching)
improved: modified size filters to be more practical  :)
improved: added 2 more result context menu actions - copy result name to clipboard and launch google search
fixed: properly ignores scripts without given profile search url (even if set with '/') - thanks bovski
fixed: allows search profiles set with '/' to use main search profile url when manually enabled - thanks bovski
fixed: fetching URLs prefixed with '//' to use HTTP or HTTPs protocol based on referer
fixed: HTTP authentication error (bug in winhttp - seen on Windows 8.1)
fixed: cookies lost on redirection request (seen on Windows 8.1)
fixed: other minor bugs

new strings have not been finalized internally for translation.. once that's ready a final beta installer package will be made. thanks!

The about box shouldn't "Copyright © 2005-2013 Convivea, Inc." be "Copyright © 2005-2014 Convivea, Inc."

The Edit Profiles seems a little strange when you hit add it should check if there is anything in the name list and if it isn't in the list add it.

empty searches

I recently moved from my XP box to a new system I built with win7 x64 installed. Right now, I am mostly seeding and don't download too much but some software i wanted offered a torrent download so I figured I'd avoid using their WWW bandwidth.

I think I was using 1.0.60 on my XP system.. but when I tried using BC on my win7 box it was 2.0.60.

Right off the bat it was acting up. It wouldn't update scripts. Then it did. after that I got a good search result. The second time I tried a search, it flashed and reported "done", with no results. I tried with a simple word that has to have thousands of matches and again, 0 and done.

I started reading here and saw the newer versions, so DL build 70 which I think is the latest beta?

I got a couple excellent search results with it, selected a few torrents, they triggered my tixati dialog and started just fine. no problem.

I opened BC again today, tried a simple search and 'poof', 0 results and done.

I'd be most happy to assist with any other testing or details, but wouldn't know where to start with this. damn intermittent problems!

strange.. BC was (mostly) developed on Win7 x64 and never had intermittent issues except for people with anti-virus/firewall issues.  I would start there -- which are you using?    Have you tried with everything turned off (just for testing purposes)?

Also, it could be a really odd case, but if you are seeding ALOT and have a huge number of open TCP connections, I am not positive, but it might have to do with max TCP connections for Windows.    Cant hurt to try this regedit:  http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/18667011-c034-43bc-ab2e-0e87bf811e5e/windows-7-increase-the-limit-of-concurrent-tcp-connections-not-related-to-eula-file-sharing?forum=w7itpronetworking

I'm sure it sounds odd, but there have been no problems with Bit Che on Win 7. I would focus the attention on the system itself.  Have you updated to all the latest Service Packs?

yes, my ignorance.  New to win7 and the sample norton's security that got added on..

I had added BC as "trusted" but no difference.  and i could not see where any exceptions were added. Once i researched it, I found the list of programs and sure enough, nortons had auto-blocked BC.  Since it worked at first, I suspect nortons was monitoring it as strange activity, with a burst of connections and all.  A custom rule for BC fixed the 0 results issue.

TYVM ;D
