Snow In Denver
« on: December 20, 2006, 09:28:10 am »
This morning the news said we would get up to 24 inches of snow in Denver. I didnt believe them so I went out looking at apartments. I should have listened to them. My car got stuck in the snow 3 times. The last time I got stuck I had to have someone push my car. It was snowing so hard I couldnt see and drove through a park. It usually takes me about 15 minutes to get home from where I was at, Today it took me over 2 hours.

I hate the snow. Not so much the snow but the cold weather that comes with it. Looks like I will have another day off of work tomorrow. My car is burried in about 14 inches of snow.

I'll be enjoying some of that snow in a few days. Gonna go down to Steamboat Springs.

Its been a month since we got that snowstorm and there still plowing. A lot of the streets and alleys in Denver are still covered in inches of ice. They said on the news that in Denver the department of transportation spent $7.1 million removing snow and that doesent include overtime

Sounds wonderful and exciting for those of us who have only had one experience in the snow.

I used to... I miss it... I miss the cold... it makes you want to stay in bed, which is good... Denver and many states to the east of Virginia are supposed to be pounded with snow later this weekend... but poor Virginia is going to miss out... it's all DC's fault...

Denver is supposed to get between 3 and 6 inches of snow over the weekend. The snow keeps piling up from all the storms. I will have to get out and take some pictures. There are some piles of snow that are taller than I am.

;D Reminds of the days in late 1960`s when I lived in Toronto Canada. You always knew that winter would bring snow and minus 10-20C. Had a VW Beetle which served me well. But I changed to a low clearance UK car (Austin Princess I think). Had to stop at the end of the lane and drag the groceries on top of an old door with a rope attached.lol Got wise after that and used a snowmobile to pull the door several hundred meters to an old farmhouse we were renting. What I liked best were the snowball fights and buildig the biggest snowman for miles around.
Cold but fun.
