hey chip

just installed the latest build and now it seems that windows firewall wants to keep blocking bit che.  i choose "allow in future" but the popup just keeps coming back.
had an issue like this before with some program and just had to remove it's entry in the windows firewall allowed programs list and then start up the program and "allow" it - but this doesn't seem to work in this instance.
heard of anything like this?  i'll keep digging to see if i can get it to work.

thanks,

benny

I'm not really sure about this.. maybe someone else has an idea? I'll look into this a little further when I have some free time.. thanks :)

Just to tell you that I had no problem with the Windows Firewall with build 45.

I've never had a problem with windows firewall when it's been on.

But I do know that lots of programs, usually P2P, uTorrent, eMule Plus etc.. do automatically tell windows firewall to open up their port and tell them that they are an o.k program.
Daniel: "This tastes like chicken."
Carter: "So what's wrong with it?"
Daniel: "It's macaroni and cheese."

Yeah, it's strange.  I found an archived version of build 37 online and installed that overtop of 44 and it works fine.

Odd.

I'm taking a wild guess here, but maybe Windows does some sort of CRC/MD5 hash checking on the .exe's and if they dont match the rules, then it will not allow the network traffic..   I suppose this could be tested by simply renaming build 44 to something other than "bit_che.exe"  and then try running that...  ? maybe then it would make a fresh entry into its database?
