MacBook Pro Mid 2012 won't recognize new SSD
« on: May 12, 2019, 06:05:50 pm »
I bought a new SSD, Kingstong A400 after my old HHD gave up and my laptop wont find it at all. I have tried several different things and none of them worked.

I have a bootable USB but when I try to run it, the "no" sign appears. Disk utility wont find the SSD, netither does the terminal command. Holding the T button only brings me to a screen with a lightning symbol. Holding down the Options just brings up the USB and nothing else. I do not have a adapter to plug it in as an USB to another computer either. I am 100% certain that the cable is working as it finds my damaged HDD. What should I do?

It'll take a while to connect to Apple's servers. Once you see the Utilities window https://testmyspeed.onl/, choose Disk Utility and format the new drive. If that works, then choose to reinstall the OS.
