Don't let gender norms control your earring choices. Their are a lot of choices you can steal from women when it comes to studs. Shapes like stars, crosses (if you're Christian), arrows, etc. They also make blockier silver/gold/plantinum hoops for guys. A lot of simple hoops marketed to women work for guys. Plain silver or gold balls work great.
