I use Firefox because it's so open and when I find a bug with it I can report it and in many cases chat to a developer and they'll get it fixed.

Generally however, browser likes are subjective and down to individual tastes. But there are somethings which are at least partly quantifiable from the browsers:

* General support of a certain set of specifications (CSS2, SVG etc...)
* General speed in a certain category of browser processing (DOM speed, certain types of Javascript speed)
* Effectiveness of the security model imposed

However all of these can be greatly spun one way or another, but with enough objectiveness you can certainly draw some constructive conclusions from trying to quantify them.

Firefox, no contest.
Internet Explorer loads quicker though, and you can edit HTML files in one click (that is by clicking View>Source), so I use it for offline reading and simple web page editing.

That's 2 clicks  :P

And if you want tom edit HTML files, Firefox has one of the most powerful tools in existence for that as an add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1843

Any particular reason? IE is a lot slower than the other browsers (even IE8), so it helps web developers if we move to modern browsers like Firefox, Safari, Chrome or Opera. I suggest you have a play around with them, there's usually one people like much much more than IE.

I'm not sure what you mean, but you can probably get an extension for it... https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search?q=auto+complete+&cat=all

A while back I installed Chrome, Opera, and Firefox. I compared all 3 plus IE, and overall I liked the feel of Opera the best. It is fully W3C compliant (like this site is, look at the icon at the bottom of every page) If a site doesn't work properly in Opera, then it's not compliant.

I didn't like the minimal feel of Chrome, and Firefox was just too similar to IE in terms of interface.

Some of the benefits of Opera: Opera synchronize maintains your bookmarks across all devices (my desktop, laptop, and blackberry), Opera was the first to have speed dial (9, or more thumbnails on starting a new tab/page, also Opera was the first browser to have tabbed browsing, and Opera is the oldest and most mature browser of the bunch; started back in 1994. I also like the personal bar of Opera, and the thumbnails of the web pages on the tabs.

More and more browsers are copying Opera's features but Opera pretty much had everything first. If i were to chose a 2nd place I'd say Firefox would be my runner up, I just really dislike chrome and IE. I like the support that Firefox has, as well as the plug-ins. Opera has the most support out of the box (IRC, e-mail, RSS client, and even recently, an HTTP SERVER!) It's arguable that you should only install what you need (like with Firefox) but its more user friendly the way Opera has it and you don't have to worry about finding plug-ins and updating them all the time. I've got enough system resources to spare.

I saw my sister using Flock once, it just looked exactly like Firefox. They say it is for social networking but what are some of the features it has to support that?
