World Cup 2006
« on: June 24, 2006, 08:52:40 pm »
Not really sure were to put this, general forum seems like the most appropriate place.

So it looks like EB is into this, but is anyone else enjoying the greatest sporting event (until Wimbledon starts tommorow :D)?
Hoping England can turn on the style at last today, because if we dont then Ecuador may suprise us. Also anyone agree that Agrentina, Mexico yesterday was the game of the tournament so far? Was really good from start to finish, felt sorry for the Mexicans, but they did lose to an amazing goal. Germany played well also, but Sweden were rubbish, cant believe England drew with them,

hahahaha... could anyone else not stop laughing at how many yellow cards were given out for the Holland/Portugal match!? that was incredible.. i really wanted Holland to score another goal so we could have had 30 more minutes of yellow cards in OT.. lol

Personally I found the ARG vs MEX game quite boring... although Mexico played really well, and the goals were very good, I didn't find the overall game that great... (ARG should be Messi from the start! Go the 19 yr old wonder!)

Also I found the ENG game today almost enough to put me back into bed (got up at 3am to watch it!) because they played so bad!!! Nice free kick from Beckham, but honestly they play farrrrrr to devensively! He was about to put Crouch on but then opted for a defensive sub... I mean why not stick on Crouch and make it 3-0 instead? Still POR vs ENG will be a great game.

I think Spain v France will be the match of the cup... going to a friends house at 6am to watch it, should be great (lets hope they start Raul this time, and get the ball to Henry!)

I don't know much about soccer, but I was amazed at how good the games looked in HD.  Does anyone know when it ends?

I thiought that was a great game lol

What a free-kick Becham! Get in!
I hope England will get revenge on Saturday. Portugal missing 2 key players to suspension and Ronaldo being a doubt will be helpful :)
