Dead TPB
« on: December 20, 2014, 06:40:23 am »
I was wondering if anyone has plans about this.
I know there is no true Pirate Bay ATM and a few mirrors of varying quality.

The most prominent is https://oldpiratebay.org/ hosted by Isohunt.
Nothing new gets added, but it keeps the lights on for the old torrents.

Does anyone have any plans?  I don't want to duplicate any work.

Is the actual script for TBP updated? Because it doesn't find all the results so I guess the script has some problems...right?

mmm what?
The piratebay can never die. Almost immediately after the .se site was taken down, the site was back up at http://thepiratebay.cr/
and has been up 100% since that day.

And it's 99% functional, including getting new torrents extremely fast. Far as I can tell the site is around 99% functional still, only thing that doesn't work right is time stamps.

So why is it taking so long for an updated script?

I tried simply replacing the .se to .cr in the old script but didnt have much luck.

It helps to follow a news site like torrentfreak.com

Most of the administrators and moderators have been locked out.  When it reopened it was over run with fakes and crap.  They're trying a report system and bot analysis, but who know if that will work.

In fact it looks like most of the original TPB people are not involved and are making noise like they may open their own competing site.

Also, to be clear, the only real official TPB is the .SE site.  The rest are mirrors or scams.

How about http://thepiratebay.to/
It has many of the blog posts that were lost and almost all of the original features.

Popular german ex-trackers like bitreactor and torrent.to redirect to this fake site. It seems they blended into that.

Cool.
But I don't see what that has to do with script development.

Regardless of the politics, the .cr site is now 100% functional, pretty much identical to the old .se site. They even fixed timestamps now.

I use it regularly and haven't encountered any fakes, and the vast majority of the .se community is there posting comments to help you spot any easily too.

The .to site looks very different than the old .se site. Could have a script for it too anyways tho if it gives good results (can't comment, haven't bothered to try)

Sorry not trying to be rude. I love your app chip, bought the plus version and used to use it all the time. Just can't as much now as I get better results by going directly to the pirate bay.
